- Peaceful and family-friendly Pays de la Loire site on the River Sarthe
- Noyen-sur-Sarthe 10 minutes’ drive; Zoo de la Flèche 25 minutes
- Tennis, pétanque, swimming, fishing and canoeing all available on site
Somewhere peaceful and rural but with loads to do sound about right to you? If you’re looking around the Pays de la Loire, Camping Onlycamp Port Sainte Marie might suit you very well. The site sits under a canopy of mature trees on a bend in the River Sarthe, and it’s less than 10 minutes’ drive from the pretty waterside town of Noyen-sur-Sarthe. The pitches are partially shaded in well-kept landscaped grounds; electric hook-ups are available, and other handy facilities for families include showers, a laundry room and washing-up sinks.
If you’ve got kids brimming with energy, send them off to swim laps of the outdoor pool (there’s a toddler pool too), play games of pétanque and tennis, fish or paddle canoes and boats down the Sarthe – they can also follow the meandering course of the river on bikes. Back on site, there’s a small playground and a field for knocking a ball around.
A daily bread service and snack bar are offered in high season, and you can spark up barbecues to practise your alfresco cooking skills – if that’s not your thing, stroll across the river to the crêperies and bars in pretty Malicorne-sur-Sarthe (10 minutes’ walk). If you need a top-up on supplies, the shops in Noyen-sur-Sarthe will see you right.
