- Quiet and family-friendly Aude site overlooking the Orbieu River
- A 15-minute walk from central Lagrasse; Narbonne 35 minutes’ drive
- Spacious, leafy pitches; accessible facilities and small grocery shop
Look at this place for some lovely views – Camping Onlycamp de Boucocers, in a hilltop location at the northern tip of the Corbières-Fenouillèdes Regional Natural Park, looks out over green hills, with the Orbieu river and medieval village of Lagrasse down below.
All of that makes this quiet and verdant site an excellent spot in which to settle and soak up the scenery of the Occitan countryside. Pitches (some of which are sloping) are shaded by trees and have access to simple facilities such as a washing-up area, hot showers and bathrooms with baby-changing facilities and amenities for guests with reduced mobility.
The small on-site store has some basic groceries for sale; for the other bits you’ll need for your meals, it’s a 15-minute walk to the shops in Lagrasse. Time your visit for the weekly Saturday market if you can, but don’t worry if you miss it – there’s local produce available in several shops. The village also has a good number of cafés and restaurants for those times when you want someone else to do the cooking.
Looking beyond Lagrasse, you’ll be in a fine location here for all sorts of days out, whether you fancy visiting towns like Narbonne and Carcassonne, heading to the beach or exploring the historic villages and natural landscapes of your Aude surroundings.

Local attractions
It has to be Lagrasse first, of course – this medieval village is one of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’, with cute cobbled streets to wander through as you nip in and out of little shops and look out for historic buildings. There’s a signed walking tour route that will lead you around 15 of the best buildings to see, including taking you over the ancient bridge to Sainte-Marie de Lagrasse Abbey.
For more heritage town strolls, head off to the fortified town of Carcassonne (40 minutes’ drive) or Béziers (50 minutes), which has a cathedral and 19th-century aqueduct. Narbonne (35 minutes) is another option, with an unfinished Gothic cathedral, the museums of the Archbishop’s Palace and Roman tunnels to explore before you hit the beach.
You should find plenty of walks and bike rides in the surrounding countryside, or you can swap that for some coastal scenery in the Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Regional Natural Park (40 minutes). To see some non-native wildlife, plan a day at Réserve Africaine de Sigean (40 minutes).
