Can’t decide on a rural getaway or a few days in Paris? There’s a very good compromise to be found at Camping MBS Les Chesnets, set in the leafy countryside of Île-de-France, and yet only 20 minutes by train from Paris Saint-Lazare. To make your journey into the big city even easier to organise, there’s a shuttle service to Vernouillet-Verneuil station available from the pitches too. Set on the edge of Verneuil-sur-Seine in the department of Yvelines, this small and friendly site is tucked among trees and has a modern, heated sanitary block with lots of hot water, a washing-up area and a handy laundry room to keep on top of domestic chores. Barbecues are allowed on site, and you can pick up bits and pieces for your grill in Verneuil-sur-Seine (five minutes’ drive); otherwise you have a choice of several bistros and bars serving delicious local produce. Camping MBS Les Chesnets is also dog-friendly, and if you are travelling with your four-legged best pal, you’ll all have plenty of exercise on woodland walks along the banks of the River Seine.

Ultra Clean & Tidy.
Toilets & Shower facilities were amazing .
Very accommodating owners, nothing was too much trouble.
Would definitely recommend if you’re wanting to use this site to see Paris.

Liked: Toilets and showers were excellent.

Disliked: Site overcrowded, no reception apart from someone’s house! When we finally got someone’s attention the welcome was cold. Electricity kept cutting out when boiling a kettle.

Local attractions

If the amazing artworks in The Louvre and the sight of Paris spread out below the Eiffel Tower are too much to resist, jump on the train for a day of sightseeing in the capital city (20 minutes by rail). Other bucket-list attractions to pack in include the gleaming Sacré-Cœur Basilica and the buzzing streets of Montmartre, followed by a wander around the exquisite Jardin du Luxembourg. Arty types might also like a trip to Giverny (40 minutes’ drive) to see the house and gardens where Claude Monet lived and repeatedly painted his water-lilies pictures. Get a taste for opulence in the spectacularly OTT apartments at the Palace of Versailles, or check out imposing medieval Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye (both half an hour) and its fascinating history museum – you can also get an exceptional view of Paris from its terraces. Kids demanding a day out on their terms? Make a beeline for Zoo Thoiry (45 minutes) and take a car safari to see lions, tigers, elephants and zebras up close.

Admission

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
Quiet hours must be respected between 8 p.m. and 10 a.m..
Refunds within the indicated cancellation period are only possible if the site is able to relet your unit/pitch.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Hired accommodation

Hired accommodation: €60.00 (£50.58) damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.
No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.
