  • Peaceful site in the Haut-Jura National Park with mountain views
  • Saint-Claude five minutes’ drive; Lake Geneva an hour
  • Seven-acre site with pétanque court, playground, food shop and bar
Well, just look at those views – if you like your outdoor breaks to have a backdrop of mountains and thick forests, you’ll likely be rather pleased with the spectacular scenery at Camping Onlycamp Le Martinet. This gorgeous site is spread across seven lush acres of land on the banks of the Tacon river, at an altitude of 440 metres in the Haut-Jura National Park. As well as forest views there are lots of trees right there on site too, giving shade to the peaceful pitches. It’s all bound to entice you out for some hikes or other activities, and the surrounding area is dotted with observation decks and waterfalls. Among the most rewarding viewpoints are Belvédère de L’Hermitage (five minutes’ drive or a half-hour hike), from where you can see the town of Saint-Claude (five minutes’ drive); and the challenging Belvédère sur Chabot (10 minutes or a 50-minute hike), overlooking the Tacon valley. Dramatic waterfalls include the Cascade de la Queue de l’Âne (35-minute hike) and Horse Tail Waterfall (15 minutes' drive); don’t forget your proper footwear for these sometimes slippery paths. If you want to crank the adventure levels up a notch or two, you can have a go at canyoning or a via ferrata climbing route too. After a day of activity, you might want to wind down on site with a game of pétanque while the kids hit the playground, or grab a cool beer at the bar before firing up the barbecue. In addition to a bread delivery service (book the night before), the site has a convenience store. There are also several supermarkets within a 10-minute drive along the D436, and a handful of restaurants in Saint-Claude.
