Keen on the idea of a Corsica cabin stay? Head to Haute-Corse (about 10 minutes’ drive from the village of Poggio-Marinaccio, to be precise) for a fabulous adults-only break in a gorgeous Natura 2000 area of the Corsica Regional Natural Park. These are some truly excellent examples of cabins, too. Each one is tucked away among the chestnut trees in its own quiet little corner of the property for peace and privacy, and they’ve all been designed to make the most of the spectacular views all around. Built on elevated platforms, they’re surrounded by the treetops and have a lovely terrace area with seating where you can simply relax and soak up the atmosphere. It’s all trees and mountains wherever you look here, and it’s no surprise to find that the owners are keen to protect the local ecosystems as much as possible. With that in mind, they’ve constructed the natural wood cabins with eco-friendly features such as solar energy and water from a locally managed source. Guest comfort was a high priority too, so each cabin has its own bathroom as well as a cosy bed and some comfy seating. There’s a small shared outdoor pool on site for cooling off on warm days, and massages can be booked on request. Food is all taken care of, as well – the half-board setup means you’ll have a breakfast hamper delivered each morning, and in the evening you’ll join fellow guests for a table d’hôtes dinner of local dishes. There’s also a bar selling both Corsican and global beers and wines to go with your dinner.

Local attractions

The Castagniccia region of Corsica is an unspoiled area with lots of natural pools, historic villages and traditional crafts to explore. Walks, bike rides or horseback outings are all good options around here, and the team on site can point you to the best routes. For intriguing outings they’ll also recommend some of the local attractions, including the Musée Pascal Paoli (20 minutes’ drive), the Mineral Water of Orezza spring (half an hour) and the ‘imaginary village’ of Carriolu (40 minutes). While your surroundings here are thoroughly immersed in mountain forest, it’s not a huge hike to get to the Corsica coast for a dip in the sea. The town of Santa-Lucia-di-Moriani (40 minutes) is a good bet for active types, as it’s got all sorts of watersports activities as well as coasteering and an adventure park. For a quieter time, head to Ostriconi (an hour), where natural dunes lead to a gorgeous stretch of white sand.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 7 day(s) of arrival.
