This immaculate, well-maintained site is praised for its exceptional, spa-like facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Set by a beautiful river in an attractive village, it offers spacious pitches, with many enjoying direct river access. Popular activities include kayaking and cycling, with easy access to nearby lakes. While some mention church bells can be disruptive at night, the overall experience is highly positive, with many visitors expressing a desire to return.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Wry nice site in a nice little village. Facilities were very good and a good stop off location going either north or south in France.

Disliked We were in a pitch which was very close to the road and noise of traffic was a bit frustrating in the evening.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Excellent for the children and lovely pitches. Excellent facilities, too. Bought a bottle of local Champagne from the reception shop and they even loaned us some flutes to drink it out of. The chap on reception was so helpful and lovely. Would definitely visit again, but for a longer period of time to make the most of it. It's a shame we only could stop for one night and sad we've only just found it. We highly recommend it. A must visit.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Beautiful small site on the river. Friendly, efficient staff to greet you on arrival. Large, level, shady pitch with boarder hedges and water tap near by. Facilities were amazing being both extremely clean and modern. No outdoor shoes in the showers which was a genius idea! Washing machine, freezer and bbq use.
Kayak and bike hire.
The river had access via a gated deck area. Wooden steps down to the water which was nice and clear.
Right in the village which had the market on and 10 minute walk to the reservoir with restaurants, shops and water-sports.
Only sorry that we couldn’t stay longer.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked The 'leave your car behind ethos'
The composter
The beautiful site.
The location
The quality of the facilities (loos/showers)
The play equipment

Disliked Unisex loos and showers. Also that one of the blocks has a visible urinal nah! Men can use cubicles I would not have felt comfortable my girls using that when they were children.
Shoes off policy although I can totally totally understand it given how immaculate and high end the facilities are the best I have ever seen in France or England.

Electric optional grass pitch (riverside)

Liked The site has a fabulous atmosphere. Beautiful entrance with lovely planting & amazing restored buildings! Toilets/shower facilities recently finished & very high standard. Pitches are large & flat with easy access to the river. Nice decking area with recliners. We booked a kayak trip which was well organised & great fun. Location is good for walking to the local ‘port’. Great cafe in the town just short distance away which opens early along with the boulangerie. A beautifully maintained site that we would highly recommend.

Disliked Nothing. Loved it! Hope to come back.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Incredible place. We stayed here two years ago and came back. It’s a beautiful old stables with land down to the river that the family have converted into the most beautiful campsite we’ve ever stayed on.
The toilets and showers are luxurious - they even play relaxing music in there and you have to wear slippers to go into the sanitarium.
There is space for cooking together on a deck area and there are sun loungers by the river as well as easy access into the river to swim / bathe or to kayak.
This time we stayed in a gite (guest house) because we had been camping in the South that morning, travelled all day to Dienville and it was still over 30c due to a heatwave. We asked if they had any gites available and they were so accommodating they managed to find something for us and make it work.

Disliked Nothing. Best campsite in France.

Liked Beautiful campsite, set in lovely grounds. Very well maintained. Situated next to a river, which you can swim in. Very clean. Great showers. Lovely staff, very friendly.

Disliked Not really a dislike but the showers ran on a 20 second cycle, which meant stopping and starting constantly. Better to set for at least a minute or two.

Local attractions

The lush waters of the Aube are right to hand from the site for swimming, paddling and canoeing, but if you seek yet more watery times it's an easy 10-minute drive to the Aube reservoir and its two lakes, Amance and Temple. Make for Lac d'Amance for watersports including jetskiing and motorboating (this is the biggest watersports lake this close to Paris), and to Temple for birdwatching, fishing and a more peaceful vibe; motorboats aren't allowed on this part of the reservoir. The lakes are part of the woodland and water landscapes of the Orient Forest Regional Natural Park (Lac d'Orient, 25 minutes' drive from Domaine Le Colombier, is the park's third lake). A 42-kilometre bike path weaves through the trees around all three lakes for scenic rides, followed by a lengthy laze on one of the three sandy beaches of Lac d'Orient, the park's biggest. By car, Aube department capital and ancient town Troyes is 40 minutes' drive away, straight through the forest. Or give the kids a splendid day out by driving south for 15 minutes instead, to arrive at the Nigloland amusement park, one of the most visited in France.
