  • Leafy and family-friendly Aube campsite on the shores of Lake Amance
  • Nigloland theme park 20 minutes’ drive; medieval Troyes 40 minutes
  • Swimming pool and bike hire on site; watersports five minutes’ walk
If you’re considering a camping getaway in the Aube and need somewhere with lots and lots for active kids to do, take a look at Camping du Tertre, 10 minutes’ walk from lakeside Dienville. On-site facilities include an outdoor pool complex and bike hire, plus an extensive play area for younger kids And that’s just for starters. This family-friendly spot is five minutes’ walk from a sandy beach and watersports opportunities galore on the shores of Lake Amance. As if that’s not enough, the campsite is in the middle of the Parc Naturel Régional de la Forêt d’Orient, offering up a myriad of hiking and cycling routes, while the rollercoasters and waterslides of Nigloland theme park are only 20 minutes’ drive away. But what about the amenities on site? They all cater superbly for families too. Your foodie needs are taken care of, thanks to the daily breakfast service, an informal licensed bar, snacks available from the Cabane de Tiph and a menu of family favourites like burgers and pizzas in the restaurant. If you’d rather stick to the self-catering regime, there’s also a grocery shop for stocking up on everyday essentials.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Great site, good pitch with hedges for privacy. Clean facilities. Excellent restaurant on site and an awesome location for the lake, there is a beach within 10-15 minutes walk, the village with a great bakery is 10 mins walk at most. Very welcoming staff. We will be back.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: It's closeness to Dienville and to a large lake. Dienville is beautiful and worth a walk around. There is also a river as you enter the town where you can picnic on the side of the river and go in the water.

Private plots surrounded by hedging.

Disabled toilet facilities.

Disliked: Chemical toilets emptied right by the washing up area.

From the manager: Dear Sir,

I strongly desseagre with your review and the mark of 6 . I do not think you are objective here .
Further more, it is not in adequation to all reviews we have had so far, take one minute of your time to read throught .
I do not know why you have made such a poor evaluation of our campsite, when we checked with you everything was fine and you absolutly did not complained about anything, you even complimented us .
Good luck

Liked: The owner was very friendly and welcoming. He helped us to move pitches to a shadier spot. Our children loved the pools, play park and ice creams and there is a family-friendly flat cycle route around the beautiful lake. The sunsets were beautiful.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: The pool area was fantastic and you could see they had put a lot of time and effort renovating the area. Lots of sunbeds to enjoy the sun.
We had food one evening and it was tasty. We ordered pain au Chocolat both days we were there and a baguette and they were delicious.
Pitches are a good size and private, although a little tired.
Hot showers with adjustable temperature was great.
Lovely lake opposite to explore as well.
The owners though made our trip. Jean-Luc speaks English and made a special effort to welcome myself and my husband. He also came to say goodbye to us when we left.

Disliked: Nothing really, you can tell they are working hard to update the site, certain areas are a little tired but it was everything we needed.

Local attractions

Most families make a beeline for Lake Amance to laze on the sandy beach and take refreshing dips in pristine waters. More active members of your clan can head for Ski Nautique Club de L’Aube to race around on jetskis or monoskis, play beach soccer at the dedicated pitch or learn to sail dinghies from Port Dienville marina (all five minutes’ walk). If you’re feeling like some adult downtime after all that haring around, quieter pursuits include explorations of the gorgeous medieval heart of Troyes (40 minutes’ drive), with its half-timbered houses and cosy bistros on cobbled streets. Or how about taking a tour of recreated 19th-century interiors and formal gardens at Château de Vaux (also 40 minutes)? If you don’t want to stir so far from home base, pretty Dienville (10 minutes’ walk) awaits with its statuesque church, lively daily market, walks along Lake Amance and a choice of terrace cafés and pizzerias.
