It's free, quick and easy!
- A short walk from a French Petite Cité de Caractère
- Half a kilometre from a lakeside beach
- Pool, paddling pool, tennis court and snack bar
Ever rocked up to the village of Rochefort-en-Terre? It's 700 metres from green and quiet site Camping Au Gré des Vents and is a designated Petite Cité de Caractère ('little town of character') with half-timbered homes, a twelfth century chateau and medieval houses bedecked by geraniums... go, it's most pretty.
And back near base there's a beach. Camping Au Gré des Vents is about half a kilometre from a small lake complex, for swimming, fishing, hiring a pedalo or just lying in the sun on its shore. A pool and paddling pool are on site, along with a tennis court, laundry room, ping pong, a basketball court and a playground with a trampoline to get the kids tuckered out.
The snack bar sells light bites and takeaway food. Bread and pastries can be ordered at reception and a local grocer calls into the site a few times a week.

Local attractions
We'd rock up to Rochefort-en-Terre first, the much-visited Brittany village set high above the River Arz.
Stroll around its alleys and visit the small shops (arts and crafts are well represented here), visit the medieval castle and look up to see if any flowers are on the old houses: the tradition of draping geraniums on homes started in the early twentieth century. And we're sure we don't need to remind you to try as much of the local gastronomy as you can too.
The lakeside complex of Moulin Neuf is also a well-known spot nearby and is within walking distance of Camping Au Gré des Vents. It has a stretch of white beach, play areas, fishing areas and many walking and cycling trails in its surrounding area.
