How might you fancy a Brittany site in a beaut rural setting, on the banks of a river with canoeing and waterside hikes a few minutes away – and a setting a mere half hour drive from the spectacular beaches of the region's south coast? You might fancy that quite a whole heap? How wholly fortunate, as Camping Le Clos du Blavet has the lot of this and then some.
In a peaceful countryside locale on the banks of the Blavet river and around 35 kilometres from the coast, Le Clos is an excellently-maintained site in handsome surroundings, a few minutes' drive from the village of Bieuzy in the spectacular department of Morbihan. Many kilometres' worth of marked trails are within easy reach; for day trips, Vannes and Carnac are reachable within 50 minutes' drive and the Gulf of Morbihan and the Quiberon peninsula within an hour and 15 minutes.
You can embark upon one of the guided walks from the site in summer to explore without venturing too far, or stay comfortably on base to use the pretty pool, bask under the Brittany sun, or rouse yourself to get sportif at the volleyball and badminton courts, football pitch and ping pong tables. Kids have a paddling pool, a playground and trampolines to bounce around at, as well as activities for juniors to get stuck into in summer, and a TV room if their eyes must remain square even while on hol.
Other activities such as theme evenings are also arranged in the summer months.

Local attractions
Set off on the hiking and mountain biking trails in the countryside surrounding this pretty place, go caneoing on the Blavet river, or amble off on a waterside walk or bike ride. Go-karting, golf and horse riding are all within five kilometres.
Your offspring may make their feelings loudly known if you refer to the term 'museum' in their holiday presence, but ignore any protests and drive the family 10 kilometres or so to the Village de l’An Mil, a living history museum in Melrand set on the site of a preserved village used by Breton peasants over 1,000 years ago. If this whets a thirst for historical knowledge in the kids (one never knows), the preserved 19th-century steelmaking village of the Forges des Salles is about 35 minutes' away at Perret.
More conventional family days out can be swung into at the X-Trèm Forest tree climbing adventure park 25 minutes away north of Carnac, and at the beaches of the Gulf of Morbihan and Quiberon Bay, within 30–35 minutes of the site.
