Two top Normandy destinations are a breeze to get to from family-friendly Camping L'Hypo'Camp: the World War II memorial of Omaha beach (five kilometres) and the spectacular sight of the Bayeux Tapestry, within 10. Omaha beach, the one five kilometres away, has a watersports centre with sailing activities. When you return back to base, there are more ways to unwind, as the quiet site has a children's play area with a seesaw and swings. Barbecues are allowed on site too for alfresco dinners, and there's the convenience of having a small grocery shop on site if you need to gather ingredients. There are also other amenities including two well-maintained shower and toilet blocks. L'Hypo'Camp is outside the coastal commune of Colleville-sur-Mer, just under 40 kilometres from Calvados department capital Caen.

Veel in de buurt goed met de fiets te bereiken. En je kunt er heerlijk wandelen, kortbij de zee.

Liked: Locatie, personeel was erg vriendelijk en hulpvaardig.
Schone toiletten en douches.

Disliked: Na een periode van regen zijn de plaatsen erg drassig (onbegaanbaar).
Maar 1 toiletblok op hele camping, dus ver gelegen plaatsen is even lopen.
Wasmachine en droger kunnen update gebruiken naar nieuwere modellen.

Liked: Fabulous site - quiet place & friendly hosts. We didn’t need to use the wash facilities as we have our own, so cannot comment on them but everything else was great - so much so, we stayed an extra night!!

Liked: Good location, good showers, decent sized pitches very private with hedges / shrubbery separating them

40 minute walk to the Omaha beach American memorial

Disliked: One of the shower blocks was out of hot water when we visited but it wasn’t a problem

Liked: Fantastic site. Spotlessly clean facilities. Helpful friendly staff. Free WiFi across the site. Reception was easy to find with a little shop for essentials and for ordering bread. Walking distance to Omaha beach but within easy near distance to many other D-Day landing beaches. Cycling is easy in the area with quiet well sign posted lanes. Lovely place to stay or stop over.

Local attractions

Normandy tourist destinations of Omaha beach and the Bayeux Tapestry see hundreds of thousands of visitors to this region every year. The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial is at the site's local town of Colleville-sur-Mer, overlooking the beach; at Bayeux, take time to see the town as well as its famous tapestry, stopping off at the 11th-century cathedral, the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy, and, if you're here for World War II remembrance, the British war cemetery just outside town. The fishing, horse riding and canoeing within the same distance should provide plenty of entertainment by the coast, as should the local sands within a kilometre, and the fishing boat views from the harbour of Port-en-Bessin, three kilometres from the site. The World War II memorial and museum of La Pointe du Hoc within 20 minutes' drive of the site. Also, remember to take your chance to have a tour of the Isigny Sainte Mère Coopérative (20 minutes' drive) cheese and butter factory.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

Hired accommodation: €300.00 (£258.31) damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.

Pitches

Units should not be left unoccupied unless previously agreed with the management. Please speak to reception when the need arises, a fee may be charged for unsupervised units.

Reception is closed from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.. No arrivals are permitted between these times.
Reception is open from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. between 28/03 and 10/10.
