What a Lot there is to do at Camping Paradis Vallée du Lot in Aquitaine. You could venture out on the weekly mountain bike tour (this is prime land for cycling, with the Lot Valley Veloroute passing in front of the site), or get stuck into the antics and entertainment arranged in high season. For mooching around under your own steam, there's a Jacuzzi and two pools, four pétanque courts, table tennis and a volleyball court… and a playground and summer club to take care of the kids… Just off the site, there's that Lot valley greenway, several hiking trails, and a waterpark with waterslides 200 metres away. You could also potter to the medieval village of Pujols two kilometres away, or take the regular bus, which also stops off at the ancient bastide town of Villeneuve-sur-Lot. Camping Paradis Vallée du Lot is on a landscaped seven-hectare park between Pujols and Villeneuve-sur-Lot in the Lot valley. As well as all the above, it has free wifi, a high-season snack bar, a mini market and communal barbecues. Takeaway is available and barbecues are allowed.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Let’s be honest - whatever it is, it’s not paradise. But….. good for a one nighter (but no more)
Tired throughout and in need of some TLC.
Decent pool

Disliked: Noisy - it’s on a main road, whatever the pictures show!

Local attractions

Passing in front of Camping Paradis Vallée du Lot is the Lot Valley Veloroute, snaking through spectacularly scenic countryside along the banks of the Lot river for 160 kilometres from Aiguillon to Cahors. Both Pujols and Villeneuve-sur-Lot are popular stops on the route; from Villeneuve, it's about 70 kilometres to the end of the path at Cahors. If you don't want to cycle, you can stroll or take the bus to Pujols, two kilometres away, and from there to Villeneuve, two kilometres from Pujols. At Pujols, enter the village via the St Nicholas archway for views over Villeneuve, the Lot river and the countryside; at Villeneuve, see the 14th-century Porte de Paris, shop on the Rue de Paris and get arty at the town's art museum, housed in the old Gajac Mill. For more activities, a waterpark with waterslides is 200 metres from the site, and horse riding (five kilometres), a golf course (15 kilometres) and canoe trips on the Lot river (20 kilometres) are all within reach. Several hiking paths are also nearby. Within driving distance, historic buildings nearby include Agen Cathedral (25 kilometres), Château de Bonaguil (30 kilometres) and Château de Biron (35 kilometres).
