Sea views for your island holiday? Snap up a stay at Aminess Atea Camping Resort and that’s exactly what you’ll get – this family-friendly site has a superb setting above a pebble beach five minutes’ walk from the lively fishing village of Njivice, and looks out over the gorgeously blue waters of the Adriatic Sea from several parts of the site.
It’s all about chilling out at this lovely location – most notably at the comfy lounge bar, which has sea views and plenty of shade for keeping your cool while you sip your drink. There’s also a swimming pool on site, with slides to keep the kids busy while you sunbathe or swim. A playground adds more options for the tiddlers, and in high season they’ll be able to join in with organised activities on site too.
And of course, there’s the option of the beach – there’s an area where dogs can have a run about and a swim, and plenty of space for the humans too. Boats, pedalos, kayaks and paddleboards can be hired at the beach and tennis, miniature golf, badminton and yoga sessions are nearby too. To explore further, hire bikes or get your boots on to follow 300 kilometres of marked walking and cycling trails across the island.
Don’t want to think about cooking while on holiday? Call the Bukaleta pizzeria and have your favourite pizza delivered to your pitch; if you don’t mind a very short walk, there are several options for a good lunch or dinner in Njivice, plus beach bars and ice cream shops.

Local attractions
Getting out to explore the island? You may like to do so on horseback from the local stables (five minutes’ drive) or by climbing up to the Mali Hlam viewpoint (35 minutes) to see what it all looks like from 446 metres up. Meanwhile, the scenery’s likely to go past at quite some speed if you head up into the treetops at Zipline Edison (25 minutes).
If you’d like to look out for some of the local wildlife, make a trip to Jezero kraj Njivica nature reserve (five minutes) or take your snorkelling kit to Uvala Čavlena (25 minutes) to see what lives in the sea. If simply relaxing on the beach is more your style, you may like to take a tour of some of the top spots – Sveti Marek, Supovica and Oprna beaches are all within a drive of around half an hour.
Adding some history into the mix? Check out the ruins of Dolova Village (15 minutes), abandoned since the 1980s, and venture into the woods to see what remains of Gradec Castle (25 minutes).
