- Peaceful touring site just over a kilometre from the island of Murter
- On the outskirts of Tisno, two minutes’ walk from a pebble beach
- Communal covered terrace and barbecue; dogs are welcome
Feeling very ready to put your feet up on a stunning Croatian beach and gaze out over turquoise waters? Take yourself to Camp Uno, a peaceful family touring site on the outskirts of Tisno. And a quick five-minute drive or around half an hour’s stroll is all it takes to cross the bridge onto the island of Murter, too.
This is a gorgeous part of the world indeed: Tisno and the island of Murter are popular destinations for diving, snorkelling and other watersports. There are tour agencies in Tisno (all within 25 minutes' walk) that can arrange a boat trip to the Kornati National Park's colourful reefs and 89 islands. Local companies can also sort you out with boat rental so that you can explore the local islands under your own steam.
For a quick beach day, Camp Uno is two minutes’ walk away from pebble beaches including Strand Jazine. There are restaurants at the beach, and plenty more are within walking distance in Tisno serving the likes of barbecued fish and Croatian craft beers. Just ask the team about their favourite picks for some excellent local cuisine.
The setup on site is nice and convenient, with video surveillance and facilities such as wifi and a chemical disposal point. The touring pitches all have electric, water and direct greywater drainage. For an evening ‘in’, head to the communal covered terrace or barbecue facility.

Local attractions
If exploring the local area is your first plan, stroll into Tisno to have a good look at the nearly 30-metre-high bell tower at the seafront Church of the Holy Spirit (25 minutes’ walk). If you have time, continue along to Iza Andrije beach (around half an hour from the site), one of the island’s more popular beaches, backed by pine trees.
The island of Murter may be a fine spot for beach activities, but it also has great hiking and cycling trails; there are several bike rental places in Murter town (15 minutes’ drive).
If you’re keen to explore some areas beyond Murter, keep your eyes peeled for herons and other water birds at Vransko jezero (half an hour’s drive), the largest lake in Croatia. Vodice (20 minutes) is another spot that’s not too far away. It has a stunning harbour with handfuls of cafés and restaurants, as well as ferry connections to Šibenik (otherwise half an hour), a city with a 15th-century stone cathedral and a white-stone castle with an open-air theatre.
