Local attractions

Stroll five minutes down the farm track, turn left and you’re on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. If you’re on for a bracing hike, head towards Strumble Head Lighthouse (90 minutes’ walk). Along the way, you have fabulous views from the clifftops – keep an eye out for dolphins and seals, who are regular visitors, as well as the occasional whale. On shorter rambles, make for the small seaside village of Goodwick (20 minutes), where you can swim off the quiet sand-and-pebble beach, or hop on paddleboards and kayaks to explore the indented coastline. Stand at the end of Goodwick Sea Wall to witness vivid sunsets in clear days, or have a look at the wildlife ponds from the boardwalk in Goodwick Moor Nature Reserve (35 minutes). Historic Fishguard (10 minutes’ drive) hosts live music festivals year-round, and there’s a leisure centre, play park and theatre with cinema screenings and Saturday morning kids’ films covering all bases for families. You can also admire the Welsh answer to the Bayeux Tapestry; the ‘Last Invasion Tapestry’ in Fishguard Library tells the story of the last invasion of mainland Britain by the French in 1797.
