  • Family camping in a sheltered valley on the north Pembrokeshire coast
  • A 15-minute drive to Fishguard or St Davids; beach 20 minutes' walk
  • Wildflower meadow and woodland surrounding spacious pitches
Torn between hiking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and exploring the county’s family-friendly beaches? At Preseli Glamping, you don’t have to choose – you can do both very easily, and much more as well. The campsite is 20 minutes’ stroll along a woodland trail from sandy Abermawr beach, and is set right on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. It's within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park too, and hikers can also follow circular walks up to the hilltop village of Mathry (20 minutes’ walk) or Melin Tregwynt woollen mill (half an hour). Tucked into a wooded valley with views to the sea and rich in wildlife, pitches spread over a meadow planted with wildflowers and saplings, and backed by the shelter of mature trees. This is a peaceful hideaway for families, couples or friends to escape and relax in comfort, with ample open grassy space for yoga sessions, snoozing in the sun, ball games and running around safely with the kids.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Rural quiet location, showers, pitch sizes and not too close together

Disliked never saw anyone, no check in or out available, no person on site that I saw to ask or get advise, my daughter had to contact through phone for wood, prefer personal touch.

Very picturesque site close to beach yet secluded. Perfect 2 day stay

Non-electric grass and gravel campervan pitch

Liked Location, only 10 miles from St. Davids.
Peaceful.
Close to beach & woolen mill with cafe that does a fantastic breakfast.
Great for camping families as tent pitches are far apart & mostly secluded.
WiFi available in car park area.
Good, clean toilet and shower block.

Disliked Very narrow access lane to site, only suitable for small camper vans.
The camper van pitches are next to the car park, so not much privacy as people are walking through your pitch.
The site is on a slope, so levels are essential.

From the manager: Hi Phil,
thank you for your review.
We are delighted you enjoyed the super clean bathrooms with their lovely warm power showers all run from our air source heat pump, plus the beautiful walk from the campsite through the bluebell woods to our local wild beach at Abermawr.
We are sorry you didn't like driving down the lane - most people don't find it a problem and its the charm of rural Wales and beautiful Pembrokeshire with its many narrow lanes, and its actually very much usable for a campervan as the milk tanker drives up and down daily to the neighbouring farm!
We are also sorry you were inconvenienced by tent campers taking a short-cut through your pitch. They shouldnt do this and its not necessary as there is a clear path from the car park to access the camping field for people to walk, without going across the top part of your large campervan pitch.
The campervan pitches are usually well liked as they are private so large with a large gravel area for the van and also a private large grassy area for awnings or pup tents too.
The WiFi is 25-30mg which is the most we can get in this rural coastal area but its perfectly adequate for most uses.
Thank you and best wishes Sophie

Non-electric grass tent pitch

From the manager: Hi Magdalena, thank you for taking the time to review our site! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the pitches, the facilities and the wildlife.

Sorry to hear you struggled to figure out which pitch you had booked. As you later realised, we do send a big welcome email with everything you need to know so that you don't have to spend any time reading the noticeboard! Sorry you missed the email. There's also always someone available at the lodge reception during check-in hours who would have been happy to help you.

Glad to hear your overall experience was a positive one however, and we're looking forward to welcoming you back! :)

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Spacious pitches, friendly staff and clean facilities

Disliked Seemed to be a wasps nest in the car park. 2 if our group were stung

From the manager: Hi Heather, thanks for taking the time to review us with a 10/10 - I'm so glad you enjoyed the campsite :)

So sorry to hear you got stung! We don't believe there's wasp's nest actually but they are naturally attracted to the bins and gatherings of people so it's hard to remedy! Lots about this time of year.

Hope to see you again anyway, have a lovely summer!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked This is an amazing spot. The pitches give you a lot of privacy and everything is spread so that you can enjoy a really quiet stay.
The shower/toilet facilities are state of the art and Sophie & the team made sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. Every pitch comes with their own bench and bbq setup, including grill for the food. We loved our stay here and will definitely come back. Thanks to Sophie's husband instructions we reached the beach in 20 minutes walk. Great access to Fishguard and the Wales Coast path which is work exploring. Can only recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a quite camping holiday.

From the manager: Thanks so much for writing this lovely review Julia! Sounds like you were the perfect match for our peaceful campsite :) we'd love to welcome you again!

Local attractions

Adventure is never far away from Preseli Glamping, thanks to the nearby coast path hikes. Cyclists, listen up too, for the site sits on the long-distance Celtic Way biking route – the area is very hilly, so some might prefer to bring an e-bike to take the pain out of pedalling. Mountain bikers can also take to challenging trails around Llys-y-fran Reservoir (half an hour’s drive). For a taste of Pembrokeshire’s rich history, check out the Neolithic burial chamber (and the coastal views) at clifftop Carreg Samson (10 minutes), or drive up to Garn Fawr Iron Age Fort (15 minutes) to see the remnants of its defence walls. Tour the ramparts and take part in medieval-themed events at the mighty castle in Pembroke (45 minutes), and visit the 12th-century cathedral in St Davids (15 minutes), the smallest city in the UK.
