  • Caravan park in a sheltered valley a 15-minute walk from the coast
  • A 10-minute drive from Porthgain village and 15 from St Davids
  • Wifi on site; Tregin village tearoom and pub within five minutes’ walk
If you’re pondering what to do in Pembrokeshire, there are plenty of options for folk staying at Prendergast Caravan Park. This family-run site sits on a pretty parcel of land in a sheltered valley around 15 minutes’ walk from the scenic seaside, making both coast and countryside easily accessible. Getting out to rocky coves, sandy beaches, undisturbed headlands and craggy cliffs is straightforward from this spot – there's many a mile of spectacular scenery to explore around here. Plonked approximately midway between the harbour town of Fishguard (20 minutes’ drive) and the tiny cathedral city of St Davids (15 minutes), it’s an hour’s amble along the coastal path to the seaside village of Porthgain and its old slate mine. Not sure where to start with your tour of Pembrokeshire? Crib ideas from the friendly owners – they’re always happy to share top tips on the local area and their fave things to see and do in this part of Pembrokeshire. They might point you towards Aberfelin cove, around 15 minutes’ walkaway, for a morning of rockpooling, Trefin (five minutes) for lunch at an inn, or Abercastle (25 minutes) to finagle fish from the locals to fry up for supper. A petrol station shop’s about a mile down the road for grabbing the essentials and Trefin has a tearoom and a post office should you be wanting a scone or a stamp. For bigger supermarket stock-ups, head to Haverfordwest, half an hour's drive away. Prendergast Caravan Park has wifi access on site as well as flushing toilets (including a disabled toilet), showers, a baby changing table and a laundry room.

Rio 3 bedroom static caravan

Liked: This is the 3rd year we’ve stayed here, and I imagine, barring a national emergency, we’ll be back again :-)

This is a lovely quiet place, in a beautiful area, and really reasonably priced - I haven’t got anything negative to say about it at all.

The owner is very friendly and helpful, and the caravan had everything we needed.

I’ve really got nothing else to say other than we really enjoyed ourselves and will look forward to returning :-)

Disliked: Some other guests were not as considerate as they could have been, but that is not the fault of this lovely caravan park :-)

Rio 3 bedroom static caravan

Liked: We like everything, we went last year May/June 2023 and enjoyed it that much, we went again this year Aug 2024, it’s a very quiet site, so if you’re looking for relaxing and chilling this is the place for you.
St David’s is a lovely place, and can recommend Whitehaven Sands, and the costal walks. If you enjoy being out in nature then go for it.
But just to inform you there’s no shop on site or children playgrounds, but if it’s for relaxing then there’s no better place

Disliked: Can’t think of anything I didn’t like

Horizon 2014 3 bedroom static caravan

Liked: Lovely clean spacious caravan. Owner is lovely, second stay at the site and will definitely book again. Lovely beaches, Whitesands is a favourite. Short walk down to the nearest cove, rope swing in trees on corner as you head down. Safe for children to play together in the open space between the vans. Wifi in each caravan.

Disliked: Nothing.

Horizon 2014 3 bedroom static caravan

Liked: Caravan - spacious, clean, fully functional and fully kitted out. Dated, but this is reflected in the more than fair price. Loved the area, local pub was good - 5 minute walk. Local beaches and headland walks - amazing! Loved the phone box lending library in the village. Loved whitesands beach - excellent for swimming, bodyboarding etc. Easy access from carpark. Loved the whole holiday. Alec the owner was so lovely and welcoming - he even put our Asda delivery in the caravan when it turned up before us! Local shop/petrol station a few mins drive. We found Nisa in St Davids good for anything bigger - good for bbq meats. The one thing that would have made it perfect, would have been a picnic bench or outdoor seating of some kind. We brought our own BBQ from home, they are allowed but not provided. It is a very quiet campsite, so you wouldnt be partying till the early hours - head somewhere else if that's your thing.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike. Thankyou for a lovely holiday. 😊

Horizon 2016 3 bedroom static caravan

Liked: Small, simple site in excellent location for walking and cycling. Van was spacious and reasonably clean.

paciousness, location, dog-free,

Disliked: Van was cold first thing in the morning and took a while to get warm. We found the seating uncomfortable (though, to be fair, we had to spend a lot of time indoors due to very wet weather).

Local attractions

Beach hopping? Aim for Abereiddy, known for its bright blue slate-floor lagoon and black sand (10 minutes’ drive), moving on towards award-winning Whitesands Bay and Newgale for surfing or bodyboarding (20 minutes). For time in town, head to Fishguard (20 minutes) for a potter around the pretty harbour, an audience with underwater beasts at Ocean Lab or a sea kayaking tour to some choice spots along the coastline. It's also the place to board ferries for jaunts over to Ireland. If wandering in Wales is more than fine for now, a bus runs between Fishguard and the tiny cathedral city of St Davids. Once you’ve surveyed the Bishops Palace, jump on the Puffin Shuttle to Solva (which runs three times a day in summer) and flutter about in this sweet little fishing village before admiring the views from the Griben headland coastal walk.
