What customers say
This campsite offers a very convenient location close to the M4, ideal for exploring Cardiff and Newport. Visitors frequently praise the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts, Colleen and Sam, who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. Facilities are generally reported as clean, with some appreciating the private toilet. However, noise from the nearby motorway is a recurring concern for some, and a few reviewers found the site basic or a little scruffy. There are mixed views on whether the facilities provided justify the price.

Very nice relaxed atmosphere with clean facilities
Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Really friendly welcome. Very relaxed site. Plenty of room. We stayed in the stables part. Gorgeous horses that were well cared for. There was a lovely seating area with a fire pit and chiminea. We booked for 2 nights but only needed one after all. The lady on the main site was very helpful with places to walk to.
Disliked The only tiny downside is there is only one unisex toilet on the stable part with no light that we could see at night time ....... also bring your own loo roll just in case lol the showers are only in the main site but reading other reviews I think there may be plans for showers, etc at the stables

Lovely, friendly little no frills site, ideal for touring
Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked What a brilliant find. This little site was perfect for our visit to family in the area. The owners couldn't do enough for us, very welcoming and friendly and concerned that we had everything we needed and were happy with our pitch. Large level hardstanding pitches.Water and electricity provided, together with the key to toilet door number 6, (which locked the door from the inside when in use) and a separate shower room. Facilities were very clean. We didn't have chance to check it out this time, but there are walks to a nature reserve and countryside from the site. Location is ideal to break a journey, being 5 minutes from the M4, or for touring the Newport area.
Disliked Nothing to dislike.
It was a little confusing to find, down a very narrow lane, a sign by Crystal stables would be helpful, although Google did know that it was further down the lane.
Didn't bother us, but as other people have mentioned, it is immediately below the M4 motorway, so some road noise.

Unsuitable for a good night's rest
Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Warm welcome.
Disliked Totally unsuitable for a Motorhome site. It's right next to the M5 motorway which had busy traffic all night. We might as well have parked in a Parking lay-by on the motorway

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked This site was ideal for me as it was close to the motorway and a local train station (Pye Corner) as I was travelling into Cardiff for a concert. Colleen was really friendly and welcoming and she very kindly dropped me off to the station and gave me some 20ps for the shower. The toilet and shower were kept clean and I had my own key for the toilet. I saw a review about the shower door not locking but it's self locking and I took the key in with me while using it. There was no pressure to leave by a certain time and I will definitely return the next time I'm in Wales. Thanks Colleen, you were amazing!

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked Host made place for amongst the trailers. Toulet door with no lock. We weren't key. So one of us had to guard door from outside.
Disliked Overgrown grass. Next to horses. Not even pitches. Went back to main reception for alternative. They gave us space between trailers so we could sleep in our own car.
