What customers say

This is a popular and often busy site, praised for its beautiful location with stunning views of Snowdonia. Visitors highlight the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and the on-site pub. The swimming pool and children's play area are particularly popular with families. However, some touring pitches are described as being poorly located, difficult to access, or of poor value. Shower cubicles are noted by some as being small, and occasional issues with cleanliness and maintenance were reported.

Electric optional hardstanding touring caravan pitch

Liked This is a busy and popular site. There’s a little pub near the reception and entrance, staffed by friendly people and offering a good selection of food and drinks.

Unfortunately, the pitch we were initially allocated—Field 3, Pitch 10—was extremely disappointing and definitely not worth £47 per night. It felt like a last-resort spot: a patch of gravel at the end of a lane, surrounded by trees. When we arrived, there were two cars already parked on it, and the electric hook-up was being used by a permanent caravan on the adjacent pitch.

After a four-hour drive in 30°C heat, this was not the welcome we hoped for. We asked to be moved but were told we had to stay there, and were advised to track down the car owners and speak with the neighbour about the electric. This response was far from helpful or reassuring.

We were genuinely considering leaving and finding another site. Thankfully, common sense prevailed and, since it was just for one night, we were offered a seasonal pitch that wasn't in use. This alternative was far more suitable and resembled a proper touring pitch.

On a positive note, the toilets and showers were clean and well maintained.

Electric optional hardstanding touring caravan pitch

Liked The location is beautiful and the call out guy was very attentive and helpful when having issues with the electric meter cards.

Disliked Expensive for partially serviced pitch. The showers and toilets weren't very clean. The spa and swimming pool facilities were clearly not thought through during design. As the shower/changing rooms are tiny and puddle due to lack of drainage. The lights in the shower room are directly over the shower heads creating a shadow with very little light. The shower temperature were extremely hot to the point of burning. Looks like a lack of focus towards the touring caravan community. Focused mainly on statics. More cover for the outdoor sinks for washing dishes as some people washed dishes in the bathroom sinks due to lack of cover when raining.

Electric optional hardstanding touring caravan pitch

Liked The children's park and a lovely little pub. Also had a little bouncy castle for the kids. and the staff in reception and pub very friendly and welcoming.

Disliked The showers could have done with being a little big bigger hard to get yourself and a little one showered in there. but they was clean especially for a busy bank holiday weekend.

Electric optional hardstanding touring caravan pitch

Liked Lovely setting, close to beautiful views, tourist attractions and activities. Travelling October half term and the park was peaceful, calm and clean. We had the pool to ourselves every day.

Disliked Our pitch was in a terrible place to reverse onto without a motor mover. The hard standing was about 5 inches above the grass so impossible to reverse onto. There were two bollards and a neighbour's awning directly opposite. Miracle we got it on!

Not a "dislike" but things to be aware of:
The toilet paper is ridiculously cheap, to the point of being unusable - bring your own!
The swimming pool is tired. The water is clean and warm enough, but there is lots of debris and it's overall grubby, a sign says due refurb next year which hopefully will sort this.

Liked Unfortunately didn’t make it there

Disliked Unfortunately we were unable to go due to sickness, we tried to rearrange another date but were unable to so we lost out on £62, very frustrating but looks like a nice place from the pictures. Has put me off going to this particular site as wasn’t very helpful about trying to rearranging another date.

Local attractions

Join the race to get out into Snowdonia National Park: many walks and cycle rides can be accessed from the caravan park. Other ways to appreciate the spectacular landscapes include boating on Llyn Padarn lake (five minutes’ drive), or climbing aboard the Snowdon Mountain Railway (10 minutes) to chug across viaducts and valleys to the summit of Wales’ highest peak. If child-friendly days out feature on your holiday agenda, make a beeline for the Welsh Mountain Zoo (35 minutes) to see rare snow leopards or become keepers for the day, and help your offspring find their surfing feet on the waves at Adventure Parc Snowdonia (40 minutes). Up the ante by testing family nerves on the zipwires at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (15 minutes), or have a go at trampolining in a former mine at Zip World Llechwedd (50 minutes). Add a touch of history to your Snowdonia break with a visit to the workshops and massive waterwheel at the National Slate Museum (10 minutes), or tour the museums and towers of medieval Caernarfon Castle (15 minutes).
