  • Family-friendly and relaxed park five minutes' drive from Penmaenmawr
  • Edging Eryri National Park and 10 minutes’ drive from Conwy Castle
  • Country club with bar, live entertainment, snooker room and kids’ zone
A relaxed North Wales touring park, Lyons Pendyffryn Hall Holiday Park & Country Club is just outside Penmaenmawr, a pretty Conwy village at the northern tip of Eryri (formerly Snowdonia) National Park. Prime position at Lyons Pendyffryn has to be on the Country Club’s terrace, from where there are fine views out over the Menai Strait and Puffin Island. The club is also the social hub of the site, with regular barbecues, live entertainment and special events running throughout the year, plus a bar, snooker room and family room to keep everyone happy. Other facilities include an adventure play area and a kids’ zone with a pool table. There’s a friendly, laid-back vibe at this site, which welcomes dogs and permits alfresco evenings cuddled up with family and friends by the campfire or barbecue; supplies for the latter can be picked up at the small supermarket in Penmaenmawr or shops in Conwy (10 minutes’ drive). It’s also a handy spot for getting out and about in North Wales, as the A55 is close by, meaning that guests can reach Llandudno in about 20 minutes by car.

What customers say

This site offers beautiful views and large, well-maintained pitches. Staff are frequently praised for being friendly and helpful. While many appreciate the convenient location and on-site bar, some guests found the toilet and shower facilities dated and in need of an upgrade, with cleanliness being an occasional issue. Road noise was noted by some visitors.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The bar with the balcony…. Beautiful view.
Staff on reception were friendly and helpful.

Disliked I paid £45 for the night, camper van with hook up (£3 additional for electric that I didn’t use and couldn’t get refunded)

I understand that it was a busy weekend with exceptional weather. I understand it is not the sites fault for other campers and their disregard for everyone else’s use of the facilities. The toilet/ shower and pot washing area had been trashed, and whilst no blame for the holiday park, at busy times they should inspect and clean more often.

If I’d have paid £25 I could have lived with it more easily and would not have put on a negative review.

By far the worst campsite for hygiene I've ever been to by a long way!

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked READ DISLIKES AFTER!!! Great location, close to a beach and lovely village on a stunning setting on the bottom of mountains. The reception is located in a beautiful old building that I believe also has a bar, snooker room and I think perhaps more (I never used). The toilets and showers are ok but better than most. Over all the whole site is well above average.

Disliked ....Yet I'm so disappointed I cannot recommend this place to anyone. All these great points but all I ask is that a campsite is clean to an ok standards. I took photos so the receptionist could believe how bad it was (ATTACHED PHOTOS). I spoke to around 6 people who felt as angry as me. Poo and wee on the toilet seats, no toilet roll in men's or women's, washing up sinks had not been cleaned, so people had started to pile up food waist behind the tap. My wife wouldn't use the showers. The urinals are semi blocked up, so fill up and very slowly go down. It is the first time I would say the hygiene does not meet regulation standards. The owners should be ashamed of themselves! I have to do this review for the sake of future visitors.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked - The surrounding views.
- Onsite club was nice to relax in after a long day - pool/snooker table, terrace area and comfortable seating.
- Staff were all polite and friendly.
- Toilets and showers were fine to use - but could've done with being cleaned more than once a day as after a long day (like everybody) went to have a shower that was filthy and hair everywhere: flip flops needed!

Disliked - Given a barrier code to access the caravan/tent site outside of hours but barrier didnt work meaning anybody could come in and out.
- Dogs were suppose to be kept on leads at all times but had to keep telling my tent neighbours to keep their dog away from roaming and urinating&others next to my tent.
- The road that meets the tent pitch site, in a car has to bump up and over a curb where it should be a drop down curb or open road for easier/smoother access.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The layout for the tourers. All the roads had tarmac which made it great for all the children to play on their bikes. We were in an ideal spot facing the park area which made it great allowing you to keep your eye on them.

Liked Nice location- apart from the noise from the road

Disliked Tired facilities, noisy road, put in a shady spot " because the other pitches are booked" and then they remained empty throughout our visit, won't visit there again.

Local attractions

Kids with you? There are family attractions aplenty nearby, from the rare red pandas and snow leopards at the Welsh Mountain Zoo (10 minutes’ drive) to outdoors fun on the surfing lake or zipwires at Zip World Conwy (25 minutes). On warmer days, you can pack a picnic and head to sand-and-shingle Penmaenmawr Beach (five minutes) for views across the Menai Straits. History abounds in this corner of North Wales; Conwy (10 minutes) is home to a majestic castle, medieval town walls and Plas Mawr, a fine Tudor-era mansion with a restored Great Hall and kitchens. National Trust - Bodnant Garden (15 minutes) has leafy parkland to tour, with wildflower meadows, formal water gardens and an avenue of laburnum trees. There’s more fresh air to be had on walks along Llandudno’s soaring Great Orme headland (20 minutes), although you can cheat and head up there on the Great Orme Tramway, and golfers will be pleased to know that there’s a course just five minutes away from the site.
