  • Adults-only North Wales farm site close to Snowdonia and the coast
  • Conwy, Llandudno and Adventure Parc Snowdonia 20 minutes' drive away
  • Award-winning pub five minutes' walk away
It’s a thoroughly grown-up setup at Ty Ni, a peaceful park on a Conwy county farm about 15 minutes’ drive from Colwyn Bay. This is an adults-only park that’s all about creating a quiet space for taking in the gorgeous views over the hills of North Wales (and the presence of an award-winning pub about five minutes’ walk away is a real bonus too…) This location, a short hop from both the coast and Snowdonia National Park, makes Ty Ni an excellent base for a varied break taking in all the attractions this area has to offer. Whether you’re into gardens, castles, gentle walks, adrenaline adventures or seaside days, it’s all here within easy reach… However you choose to fill your days you’ll be coming back to a well-kept site that’s not been overly developed but has all the essentials on hand, including washing-up sinks, a washing machine, ladies’ and gents’ toilets and showers, plus chemical waste/grey water facilities for tourers. You’ll spot a few eco-friendly touches too, like facilities for recycling and composting waste. Barbecues are permitted at this park if you’d like to spend an evening cooking outdoors while taking in the lovely rural views – there is a small shop on site and the option of several local village shops for additional supplies or bigger supermarkets in places like Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. As well as the excellent pub down the road there are also several more pubs and restaurants close by that are worth checking out.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Beautiful views, well maintained and spaced pitches with a water tap and electric point to each pitch. The toilets and showers were very clean and bathing products free to use. Nice washing up area. The owner Carolyn was very helpful and friendly. Our dogs were also welcome. My friend and I enjoyed our stay very much and would be happy to visit again.

Disliked: There are 2 small wind turbines on the hill which can sometimes be hear at night

Liked: Suited our needs. Owner Carolyn was lovely and helpful. She was always around and about making sure everyone was ok. Would do anything for you. Honesty shop was well stocked with everything you could imagine. Shower/ toilets nice, clean and tidy. Shower was the best! Fed the chickens. Wash-up room is ideal. Washer and dryer can be used for a small charge. Lovely location, very quiet. Pub in walking distance Holland Arms. A short drive to the Bee Inn, a lovely old pub. Will definitely be back.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike whatsoever

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: What a lovely campsite! Beautiful scenery, it is very well kept. The pitches were perfect hard standing with grass areas. The space in-between the pitches was big enough that you didn't feel on top of one another or over looked by anyone. Lovely and quite site. The local pub is in walking distance that offers great pub food with huge portions. The best thing about this campsite is the showers! Hot water, very clean and very powerful and stay in all the time- not the ones you have to keep pressing the button. Not sure what there is to do locally as we travelled about 50mins away each day. All in all a perfect place to stay over the bank holiday weekend.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: What can I say what a lovely place to pitch up. Carolyn the owner went above and beyond. They are planning on added more in due course. Absolutely loved the showers nice and hot. They have a little shop with their own bacon and eggs. There is a pub within walking distance, but it is closed Wednesday and Thursday. Colwyn bay is a short drive about 15/20 minutes away and Rhyl just a little further. When we are next in North Wales we will definitely stay again. If you want peace and quiet away from hussle. There is also a place where you can wash and dry your clothes.

Route directions

If you are towing or driving a large motorhome, following the postcode LL22 8BE can take you down some very narrow lanes. At Abergele, turn onto the A547 first and then onto the A548. The Satnav will tell you to turn right all the time but these are narrow roads good only for campervans and smaller vehicles. If yours is longer and wider, keep to the A548 until you reach the B5113 to Colwyn Bay on the right. Carry on along the B5113 – the turning for the site is on the right just past the Holland Arms pub car park, there are signs, and the site is 250 yards on the left down the road. Please take care that you do not enter Pen y Bryn cottages by mistake.

Local attractions

There are so many great places to get out for a walk around here, it might be tricky to know where to start. Among the top choices are the pretty village of Llanrwst (15 minutes’ drive) for a stroll to see its famous three-arched bridge, or Capel Curig (half an hour), which is a well-known hub of walking trails. For gentler strolls, plan trips to the likes of 80-acre Bodnant Garden (10 minutes), filled with formal gardens, meadows and champion trees, or check out the castles in Conwy (20 minutes) and Caernarfon (45 minutes). The colourful Italianate village of Portmeirion (55 minutes) is a popular day-trip destination, as is the seaside town of Llandudno (20 minutes) for a walk on the pier and perhaps a tour of the Penderyn distillery followed by a sip of their whisky. Up for a bit more action? Hit the waves of Adventure Parc Snowdonia (20 minutes) for the unusual experience of inland surfing or sign up for one of the adrenaline rushes at Zip World Fforest (20 minutes) – perhaps a ride on the forest coaster or a go on Europe’s highest swing?
