  • Busy family park within easy reach of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl
  • Close to the beach at Abergele
  • Pool, playground, bar, restaurant and takeaway
Thrills in Rhyl or getting out to play in Colwyn Bay: both are in easy reach of Ty Mawr Holiday Park on the north Wales coast – along with gorgeous beaches, market towns, charismatic castles, and the inspiring scenery of the Welsh mountains. This buzzing, family-oriented park is great for kids: they’ll spend hours whizzing down the flume into the indoor pool and running around the large outdoor playground, and can join Sparky the rabbit and his Krew in the free kids’ clubs for all ages. There are also plenty of organised sports activities on offer. In the evenings, the whole family can enjoy a knees-up at the all-singing, all-dancing entertainment bar, where live bands and cabaret make a regular appearance, as well as fun theme nights and competitions. The various food options on site include plenty of takeaway choices at the Rendezvous diner and the Boathouse bar and restaurant. Modern amenities include toilets, showers and heated changing areas.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked: My kids loved this campsite. The pool was great - good size with a flume (you need to book it but it's free). Good facilities like on site pizza van, chippy and shop. Entertainment in the evenings and other activities you could book onto. Fees very clear and helpful.

Disliked: No toilet roll in the toilets, one set of toilets for all those camping - 3 ladies toilets in total, but you use the ones in the main complex too.

Liked: Nice flat pitches clean and tidy

Disliked: Very over priced club house at 6.20 pint and £8 for a cheeseburger is ridiculous the on site shop staff we’re horrible my wife and son went in for some cellotape to wrap some presents as we were there for my birthday anyway all they could find was gaffer tape until they where at the till and my wife spotted proper tape and asked my son to put the gaffer tape back he was accused by a gentleman who works there of trying to steal the roll of gaffer tape and he saw him trying to put it in his pocket and made quite a scene in front of a packed shop when my wife explained that he was simply putting it back and the fact our son was certainly no shoplifter and his shorts had no pockets he just walked off with no apology and left my wife and son really upset!!!!

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked: There are plenty of attractions for kids, including an indoor swimming pool and delicious food at the on-site restaurants. A large funfair is just a few minutes’ drive from the park. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Disliked: The local Nisa shop is quite small. The swimming pool offers sessions lasting 45 minutes to an hour. The floors can be dirty, but that’s understandable given the high number of visitors throughout the day.

Liked: Lovely site and generous pitch sizes. Great facilities for the grandson.

Disliked: I know the season is just kicking in, but activities that we had booked for the grandson were either delayed or on one occasion had to have the day and time changed. Their reasoning was he was the only person booked, but I feel it was more of a staffing problem. They shut the pool twice while we was there, saying it was a chlorine problem, surely they should be adding treatment during the evenings.
