  • Well-equipped touring pitches at a rural Mid Wales site near Caersws
  • A 10-minute drive to Llanidloes and 15 minutes to Newtown
  • Restaurant, bar, adventure playground and crazy golf on site
Travelling Wales in a caravan or motorhome? Make your way to Mid Wales site Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park for a scenic stay amid the lovely landscapes of the Trannon Valley. Pitches at this park are specifically designed for van-based stays, so they’re flat and made of hardstanding materials – and at nine square metres they’re big enough to cope with most sizes of motorhome or caravan. All pitches here are serviced, and there’s an Elsan point as well. Plenty of other facilities are provided too, to make sure that everything’s nicely convenient – a modern shower/toilet block has accessible facilities, baby changing and space for families, and there’s a utility room for washing up and laundry. Essentials all dealt with, it’s time for the fun stuff – the park has nearly four miles of scenic country pathways to stroll along, and the touring park is just next to the play area with crazy golf, an adventure playground, football and badminton. Dogs are welcome to come along and join you here, taking in the walks by your side or heading to the dog exercise area to run about off lead and meet new pals. It’s all very rural in atmosphere here, but you’re not far from amenities if you want them – it’ll take you about 20 minutes to walk to the village of Trefeglwys with its pub, or five minutes to drive to Caersws for a couple more pubs, shops and a fish and chip shop. If that’s all a bit too far away, it’s handy to know that Arthur’s Restaurant & Bar is on hand right there in the park for meals and drinks; as it gets busy, you may need to book a table in advance.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (adults only)

Liked: A lovely site, peaceful and scenic. Very easy to access and very little road noise. The site and toilet facilities are very clean. We booked a pod on the terrace (as we have dogs) to enable us to sample Arthur’s restaurant on site. The food and service was exceptional and reasonably priced for the quality of the dishes. This was our second time here and will definitely return.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (adults only)

Liked: The site is well layout with an adult section for those busy family periods if you want your space.
Our pitch was approx 9m x 9m gravel and pretty flat, you could park in your chosen direction and had services on pitch electric, water, grey waste and aerial.WIFI good enough for the TV.
There are plenty of walks on the site and around the area.
There is opportunities to do water sports and fishing nearby ensure you have a license.
There is playing pitches and kids play area.
The shower blocks are spotless and well positioned.
Arthur's restaurant and bar the staff are warm and friendly and the food really good.
The management and owners really take pride in the site and your holiday experience so if you have a question just ask them and they will help.
Cant wait for the additional services planned for 25/26.

Disliked: Only real dislike is the use of a shower curtain not sure it’s needed, and the push button shower timing too short.

Liked: The site in general was really nice. Loads of places to walk the dogs and even an off lead field.
Level pitches for campervan. Asked to be near toilets and they made that happen for us.
The pack they give you when you arrive was really nice. Gave info on things in the area.

Disliked: Didn't realise I couldnt take the dogs in the bar. Sitting outside in Feb was not really going to go well 🤣🤣.
Was only 1 sink for pot washing (unless i missed some others) so could become busy in jogh season.
Wouldn't stop us returning though.

Local attractions

The Mid Wales countryside is packed with places to get out for a walk among the gorgeous scenery – the Elan Valley (35 minutes) is perhaps one of the better known areas, with waterfalls, reservoirs and a great family-friendly trail along an old railway line. It’s also worth stopping by at Clywedog Dam (15 minutes) and seeking out the Source of the River Severn (half an hour). You may spot wildlife as you walk, but for guaranteed sightings, take a visit to the Red Kite Feeding Station (half an hour). For a sense of the area’s history and traditions, visit the shops in Llanidloes (10 minutes), see old crafts at Newtown Textile Museum and learn about mining life at the Silver Mountain Experience (35 minutes). Powis Castle and Garden (40 minutes) is a good bet for history buffs, art lovers, garden gurus and families alike. Fancy a breath of seaside air? Head to the west coast to visit Aberystwyth or hit the beach in Aberdyfi (both about 55 minutes).
