  • Welcoming wild camping site in the Brecon Beacons National Park
  • Two miles from a trail up Pen y Fan; Four Waterfalls 30 minutes' drive
  • Meadow pitches with on-site walks; homecooked meals on Friday night
Ca’s Camping is in pole position for anyone keen to get out and about in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Situated on the edge of the park, with glorious mountain views right from your tent, this is wild camping in a peaceful, flat meadow on an organic farm with dairy cows, free-range hens and ponies. The dogs get to come on your Welsh adventure too (on leads please), and you can exercise them in the designated 2.5-acre meadow adjoining your camping field, which has a stream running through the middle for family paddles and splashing around. A 10-minute walk in woodland takes you to gorgeous waterfalls on a tributary of the Tarrell river. You can pick up supplies for the barbecue from the handy supermarkets in Brecon (10 minutes’ drive, check out the historic cathedral too), where there are also masses of pubs, fish and chip shops and takeaways for those nights when no-one wants to cook. If you're staying on a Friday night, you can sign up for a 'Ca’s Kitchen' meal – a tasty farmhouse supper (with dessert) made from locally sourced produce and served in the woodland area near the waterfalls (weather permitting…) Simple facilities on site include a toilet and shower block (installed for the 2025 season), as well as a washing-up area and rubbish recycling points. An added bonus is the standpipes providing drinking water straight from a spring in the Brecon Beacons.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Very easy to find, although entrance a little muddy following previous night's rain. Massive field with huge choice of pitches. Very clean facilities. Good dog walks from camp.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The location was great. As you can see from the photos great view of the mountains not far in the distance. It's also only a short drive/ cycle into Brecon from here.

Disliked: I thought the facilities were a little basic for the price of the stay but it looks like some work is being done to amend this.

While I am fully behind compost toilets this could be implemented a little better than at present.

I didn't use the shower but it seemed pretty clean.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Quiet. Lots of space. Friendly welcome. Good amenities. Directions to the camp site very helpful. Close enough to town for a walk but far away enough that you were still isolated.

Disliked: Very muddy at entrance, with big dip. Can foresee issues with vehicles getting in and out. However, looks like there’s a tractor that could help if stuck.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Perfect little spot. Location to pen y Fan is amazing. Very basic campsite with very basic facilities. But that made it awesome for what we went for. The owner also popped by for a chat which was nice.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The campsite was based close to the mountains. Beautiful scenery. Large field. Lots of room to pitch your tent away from others for privacy. During the evening when the temperature dropped we lit our camp fire. Great experience.

Disliked: Composting toilets. However we knew about this before we visited. So it didn't really bother us.
