Meadow electric grass & gravel pitches

  • Peaceful park next to the River Forth, two miles from Aberfoyle
  • In Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, a half-hour drive from Stirling
  • Well-kept pitches with direct access to Loch Ard Forest; dogs welcome
If you’re setting off for Stirlingshire with your eye on finding lots of alfresco activities, you should certainly consider Cobleland Campsite as a base. A couple of miles south of Aberfoyle, this peaceful park is in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, just on the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. That setting means miles and miles of walking and cycling trails stretch out through the surrounding area, with fishing and golf close by too – and watersports, treetop trails, cliff jumping and the like for more intrepid guests. And in fact you don't have to travel far to get started on soaking up the spectacular scenery – you can simply stick around on site, where oak trees tower over the pitches and there’s a backdrop of pretty forest views with the River Forth running along one side of the site. Just beyond the river are paths taking you straight out into Loch Ard Forest for a woodland wander or a dog walk if you’ve brought your pet with you. The pitches at Cobleland are well tended and spacious, with access to all the essential amenities including a launderette, a washing-up area and chemical disposal as well as bathrooms with toilets, showers and disabled facilities. Aberfoyle (five minutes’ drive) has a small supermarket for supplies, plus several places to eat and drink.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Lovely campsite and friendly and accommodating staff.
Helped us change the pitch to a grass one after I mucked up the booking.
Lots of information about the site and near walks and pubs.
Toilets clean and bright and the site is immaculate.
2 miles easy walk to Aberfoyle and lots of greenery and birdsong.

Disliked: Really can't think of anything.

Non-electric hardstanding pitch (woodland)

Liked: This site is beautiful. Situated by a stream amidst the trees. The site is lit with beautiful lights. There is a real peaceful feel about the site and this must come from the lovely owner. A wonderful filled shop on site too. Also food and coffee hut.
The showers and toilets are so clean. The shower is piping hot with a heater high on the wall. There is also washing facilities.
There are some lovely walks close by too.
This is definitely the best site I have stayed on.

Meadow electric grass and gravel pitch

Liked: The size of the pitch was good and we were very kindly located next door to our friends. The wash up areas showers and toilets were always clean and I don't have to wait at all. Very friendly hosts, coffee shop on site and the children enjoyed the park and open spaces for games.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Lovely little site. In a great location with good amenities on site. The little coffee shop was an added bonus, the pizza smelt amazing but we had already eaten, river good for a dook and of course dog friendly. Toilets were clean and warm, plus I was able to get a hot shower too. The person who checked us in was super friendly and helpful. Was able to get us a brilliant pitch and gave some good and helpful local knowledge.

Disliked: All good! A few noisy campers and a middle of the night car alarm but non of these things could be helped and not down to the campsite which was great!
