Loch katrine

  • Hardstanding motorhome pitches in the Trossachs Pier car park
  • On the banks of Loch Katrine with direct access to the Trossachs Trail
  • Next to a café and departure point for loch cruises
Somewhere scenic to park your motorhome in Stirlingshire? Take a look at the touring pitches at Trossachs Pier – this location is in a fabulous spot right on the banks of Loch Katrine and in one of the UK’s largest National Nature Reserves, the Great Trossachs Forest. Technically speaking, these pitches are in the pier’s car park, but there’s rather more to it than that, as you’ll have access to toilets and showers (for an extra charge), wifi and a café serving up breakfasts, lunches, hot drinks and the like. There’s also bike hire in the car park, and it’s the departure point for various passenger cruises. Boat trips run regularly through the day but the top pick for many visitors is a ride on the Sir Walter Scott steamship, which has sailed on the loch since 1900. Once you’ve explored the loch thoroughly, don’t plan to move on too quickly – this site is located on the 40-mile Trossachs Trail for walks and bike rides, and there’s plenty more to see and do around the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, whether you’re planning to bag a few Munros, go fishing, play golf or explore some of the area’s history.

This campsite offers a beautiful location by Loch Katrine, with many visitors praising the stunning scenery, friendly and helpful staff, and excellent amenities. The site is well-kept and clean, with good facilities including 24-hour toilets. Activities like walking and boat trips are popular. Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch (XL)

Liked Done the walk then left.

Disliked Took a while for someone to come see us. Was supposed to be in a bay near the walk way but someone that wasn’t paying was in our bay. After all the tours finish nobody is about only the toilets are open.

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch (large)

Liked Friendly receptionist.

Disliked The pitches were so far off level in 2 ways that even at the very top of our ramps plus a board under a third tire our van was still completely sloped. We tried a second pitch with the same result so we just left. It would have been impossible to cook anything or even be comfortable at such an angle. Not really sure what the idea was but that isn’t a realistic pitch. The other side looked better but no way of knowing what pitch you are assigned until you arrive and the others were full. Spots 6-9 are ridiculous.

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch (large)
