What customers say
This campsite boasts a stunning, serene location by the sea, offering phenomenal views. Visitors highly praise the friendly and helpful staff, as well as useful amenities like the communal shelter, BBQs, and charging points. While many appreciate the basic but functional facilities, some note the distance to toilets and showers. Midges can be prevalent, and some pitches may be boggy, but the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.

Lovely campsite but there's still much that can be done to improve it
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Elle the receptionist was lovely and helped us by providing a lot of useful info at all times. The barbecue at the campsite came in handy and there was a tap with potable water nearby. The surrounding scenery was just stunning. And the campsite itself was gorgeous (but room for improvement)
Disliked The showers were too far away from the campsite, the compost toilets had no light inside nor the cabin at the campsite for use at night. The charging station wouldn't work sometimes, the sinks didn't have a shelter above for those times it rains and no receptionist at the site at all times (not the receptionist fault obviously).

Great campsite, wonderful views and location.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Excellent location and facilities. Good indoor shelter to keep out of rain and away from midges. Showers hot and powerful, excellent drying room available and staff always friendly and helpful.
Disliked Expensive for a single traveller.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Location of site is excellent, short level walk from ferry pier, close to well stocked shop/post office.
Right on the edge of the loch, View over Loch Scresort is beautiful. Lots of birds and seals.
Nice level grass to pitch on, well drained.
Best of all is the wooden shed with seating, hanging space and table, plus veranda with bench, great to sit out of the rain and midges.
Composting toilets work well and always clean.
Disliked Not really a complaint, part of the Scottish experience, and not in anyone’s control anyway, but expect a lot of midges!

It was a decent simple site. Don’t expect too much. Take ear plugs .
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Remote and attractive location. Very simple camping site if that appeals to you .
Disliked Ground was a bit moist in places but not too bad. Also, campers were requested to avoid making noise or playing music. Fair enough, nobody did. But the small local community did not seem to follow that ethos. Power tools, engines, construction equipment were going full blast much of the time. It rather took the shine off being in such a remote location.

From the manager: Hi there, thanks for taking the time to review our campsite, and we're glad you enjoyed your stay overall! We pride ourselves in our lovely remote location and are happy you enjoyed the views. We're sorry that you encountered some noise during your stay - we take care to make sure that any grounds work (ie lawn mowing or strimming) is done during social hours to ensure the campsite is kept looking tidy and well-maintained. It's a working, developing community and we can't control noise outside the campsite.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Good access to bathrooms, shower nearby, great view of the water, good facility for cooking and a sheltered place to eat or rest.
Disliked Midges! The site in the woods and right on the water was beautiful, but also meant more midges.

Liked I spent 3 nights at the Rum site with my Grandson. Climbing and nature watching.
Although the weather was mixed and the midges wild the site facilities and location where ideal for our needs and we plan to return in the not too distance future.
