What customers say

This is a remote, peaceful campsite in a stunning valley location, praised for its incredible views and tranquil atmosphere. Visitors found the site clean, well-maintained, and appreciated the friendly, helpful owners. Facilities are basic but adequate for the site's rural charm, with good WiFi despite limited mobile signal. Access is via a single-track road, which some found challenging but rewarding. Midges were noted as a minor issue.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked We liked everything about the site and the area. Ronnie was very welcoming and made sure we knew where everything we needed was. Such a relaxing place and we would thoroughly recommend it. In fact it’s so good we’ve booked again for two weeks time.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely little campsite with beautiful scenery all around, had good amenities also.
We noticed that we had a flat tyre on our motorhome when we stayed and the owner of the campsite was incredibly helpful and got us out of a tight spot, would recommend to others!

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Very friendly owner who came down and welcomed us. Next to a field with sheep and cows, with the most incredible sunset view. A basic site with 2 toilet and 1 toilet/shower room, but prefect for what we like. A brilliant drive to get there too. Will definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Location, lovely location so peaceful. Was a tad concerned re comments on access, however not an issue at all. Yes it is mainly single track but loads of passing places and frequent too, therfore no need for reversing. Facilities were clean also. As you enter the gate ther is water supply on a roll up hose so nice and easy to top up water supply. Our pitch was level and others looked level also. A site well off the beaten track so you can feel safe and secure.

Disliked Nothing really it suited our needs and expectations fully.

Local attractions

If you’re a Gavin Maxwell fan, or just really into otters, you’ll want to make a pilgrimage to the Bright Water Visitor Centre on Skye (45 minutes by car): as well as learning all about Maxwell and the modern efforts to conserve the wildlife of this lush place, you can book guided trips to the author’s home on Eilan Bàn. While you’re on Skye, you might want to take in some more of the island’s attractions such as the Museum of the Isles, tours and tastings at the Talisker distillery and walks through the outstanding landscape to spots like Kilt Rock Waterfall and the Old Man of Storr. Half an hour away, Eilean Donan is the pick of the local castle collection, a fully-restored 13th-century pile on an island where three lochs converge. Duncraig Castle is more of a mansion and is close to Plockton (50 minutes' drive), an eccentric gem of a place with cows wandering the beach and palm trees on the streets. You can catch seal-spotting boat cruises from Plockton, or head to Kyle of Lochalsh, where the Seaprobe Atlantis takes you over the waters in a glass-bottomed boat. Shame they don’t do that on Loch Ness… you can, however, take boats on the famed monster loch from Fort August, an hour and 10 minutes away.
