What customers say
This peaceful, rural campsite is praised for its beautiful lake setting and convenient location between Bristol and Bath, offering easy access to both cities. Campers highlight the friendly and helpful staff, the freedom to choose pitches, and the allowance of firepits. Facilities are generally described as basic but clean, with hot showers and good recycling options. Some guests noted muddy conditions during wet weather and a few felt the site could benefit from better maintenance and clearer signage upon arrival.

An appalling site, overcrowded, no management, rough ground.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Toilets, showers and chemical disposal were all good.
Disliked Nobody came to see if I'd arrived. Nobody allocated me a pitch, so it was find a spare pitch and help yourself. Pitch sizes were not adhered to: a tent was put up between my tent and the one on the next pitch making the space between me and it ten feet, So close you could hear them snore. They had not booked and just turned up and pitched their tent where they could squeeze in. The owner did come and, instead of moving them on, just collected the money and left.

Owner when he turned up in the evening was friendly and checked…
Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Owner when he turned up in the evening was friendly and checked I was happy with where I was parked.
Disliked On arrival it wasn’t clear where to go and I ended up in what I can only describe as a travellers residential community and parked up by a pile of broken pallets 🤔
I rang the owner and checked I was in the right place and he told me to walk around to the other field to see if I fancied anywhere else.
Fox field is much nicer and clearly the holiday maker field but there was no room.
I was only staying for 1 night so thought it doesn’t matter too much although I was disappointed.
I found a more suitable gap in Badgers field between a caravan and a motor home.
After an hour I was told to move by a resident so ended up in another gap.
I was now quite unsettled but had no where else to move to. There is no signal in this area so I couldn’t look for an alternative site.
A glass of wine and dinner and I felt a little better. The owner finally turned up around 8pm, was friendly and I said what had happened.
He said I shouldn’t have been asked to move and was I happy. I said there was no room anywhere else and I was ok.
In reflection I probably should have said I wasn’t happy to see if he could find an alternative but I was settled and didn’t want to pack up.
I had a disturbed night as I was opposite the gravel entrance and vehicles seemed to come and go most of the night.
Residents seems to be night owls with doors opening and closing and some banging. I had an unsettled night.
Next day I packed up and took my rubbish to the bin area which was overflowing with rubbish.
Toilets were basic but mopped down. One shower I didn’t like the look of but luckily for me I was wash facilities on board.
I wouldn’t rule out staying here again but would insist on being in the Fox Field.
