  • Peaceful farm campsite with spectacular views of the Marlborough Downs
  • Avebury Stone Circles 15 minutes’ drive and Lacock Abbey 40 minutes
  • Off-grid pitches with outdoor showers, a field kitchen and pizza oven
Grab your space at Great Cotmarsh Farm – a gorgeous and peaceful North Wiltshire base with views to the Marlborough Downs, and an all-round lovely spot for outdoor adventures on a small farm managed on ecological lines to help nature flourish. As well as outdoor showers, facilities at this off-grid site include a shared field kitchen and pizza oven – or you can try your hand at proper outdoor cooking on the campfire. If you need some inspiration for the barbecue, the farm sells their very own delicious pasture-fed lamb and beef, as well as locally-produced organic ice creams and sourdough bases for the pizza oven. The farm has a botanical dye garden and meadows to explore, and say ‘hello’ to the native-breed livestock. The farm also has an abundance of wildlife; you may spot barn owls, deer and hares. If you are after the kind of holiday where you can have fun outdoors, then Great Cotmarsh Farm is the place. And there’s lots to see as well: Wiltshire has tons of historic homes and gardens to tour, and when you need some sightseeing inspiration, the site owners can provide advice, local maps and guidebooks. If you want to keep your stay super-local and reduce your carbon footprint, footpaths lead from the pitches into neighbouring meadows and up onto the Marlborough Downs, including access to the White Horse Trail at Board Town (35 minutes’ walk).

Tipi

Liked: Teepee was beautifully laid out, comfortable beds, everything provided and very clean and tidy. Campsite was really peaceful and chilled out. We made good use of the fire pit and pizza oven! Katie was super helpful and let the kids have a go at feeding the lambs.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Beautiful quiet location.
Katy and James were excellent hosts and went out their way to look after us.
The facilities were kept very clean, having individual fire pits for each pitch was a bonus.
