What customers say
This is a highly recommended, basic, and relaxed campsite with large, open fields allowing free choice of pitch. Visitors praised the friendly and helpful staff, clean composting toilets, and convenient location near a pub and local attractions. Campfires are permitted, adding to the traditional camping atmosphere. While some noted a lack of showers and washing-up sinks, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return. Would definitely use again!
Non-electric grass and earth pitch
Liked Really cheap and easy to use campsite. Perfect location for Mendips and surrounding areas. Ideal for walking ebbor gorge too. Compost loos were clean and maintained and plentiful. Access to fire pits was so useful. Staff were friendly as were other campers.
Pitch size was unlimited so perfect for a bell tent. Would definitely stay again, and maybe stay longer.
No showers but recommend a solar for camping anyway.
Handy tourist info available, fire supplied for sale until 9pm.
Pub only 5 minutes walk away but we didn’t use it this time.

A fantastic campsite if you prefer…
Non-electric grass and earth pitch
Liked A fantastic campsite if you prefer the more back to basic vibe - we loved it. A well maintained and tidy campsite, no rubbish anywhere etc. Lots of space to pick from. Lovely scenery, dog friendly and friendly pub a 5 minute walk away. Both campsite and pub child friendly - nice little play area at the pub too. There seems like lots of walks you can take directly from the camp site, so no need to jump in the car.
Disliked Toilets probably not overly suitable for very young children.

The freedom of pitching up anywhere…
Non-electric grass and earth pitch
Liked The freedom of pitching up anywhere with no allocated spaces is ideal. We were 3 separate family groups so it was especially nice to be close together. The children 6&7 absolutely loved the freedom of playing many games in the field. They also loved toasting marshmallows on the campfire and playing on the rope swings in the trees. We will continue to return here again with family and friends.
