Firepit area

  • Peaceful site on an Isle of Purbeck working dairy farm
  • A 20-minute drive from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door
  • Wareham town centre 20 minutes' walk away for shops and places to eat
If you've been keeping a beady eye out for buzzwords like peaceful, farm and the Jurassic Coast, now is a good time to hit pause. Frome View Camping is a peaceful site on a dairy farm on the Isle of Purbeck, within 20 minutes’ drive of iconic Jurassic Coast locations like Lulworth Cove, Old Harry Rocks, Dancing Ledge, Swanage beach and Kimmeridge Bay – plus perhaps the area's most well-known spot, Durdle Door. Well-maintained, family-friendly and peaceful, this site is in a handy spot just outside of Wareham. Mornings can begin with a 20-minute stroll into town for brunch at a café or to hire a boat to explore the river Frome, and evenings can start with a barbecue followed by some time at the communal firepit. The site is easy to get to by car, or you can take a train to Wareham station followed by a 30-minute walk to the farm. For a leisurely train ride, the Swanage Railway is a 20-minute drive from base, and for peaceful strolls around a nature reserve with tea rooms and a strikingly blue pool, the Blue Pool is just a five-minute drive away. Wareham has pubs, restaurants, shops and access to the walking path along the Frome, all within 20 minutes’ walk of the site. It also has a sports centre with a swimming pool, 35 minutes’ walk from the site. Local music events are held on Wednesdays in Wareham.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Quiet site, felt very safe having a lock on gate on arrival. Plenty of space to pitch. Loved the idea of gravel cut outs for fire pits as an added safety measure with children. The man that came to clean toilets twice daily was thorough and friendly. Showers were hot and clean.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked There was plenty of space so it was easy to find a pitch and feel relatively private from other campers. The toilets and showers were in great condition and well maintained. And the scenery was beautiful, as well as it being a quiet spot away from main roads.
