Camping with a view

  • Small, eco-friendly family-run site in the Dorset National Landscape
  • Lyme Regis and South West Coast Path five minutes’ drive
  • Spectacular views to the sea; dog friendly; barbecues allowed
Set back from the Jurassic Coast above Lyme Regis, family-run Berries Farm Camping has spacious and scenic grass pitches on five acres of scenic farmland. Well away from the buzz of the coastal towns in the Dorset National Landscape, the site is unpowered and some of the pitches slope slightly but the peace and quiet – and the stunning views – more than compensate. Amenities include flushing toilets and showers with hot water, otherwise you’re pretty much on your own. Barbecues raised off the grass are permitted, but campfires are not allowed (for the safety of the livestock that grazes the area outside of campsite months). Along the same lines, pets are welcome on site but please bear in mind that there are sheep in neighbouring fields so you'll need to keep a close eye on them. Up your green credentials and walk down to Charmouth in just over half an hour, or Lyme Regis in about 40 minutes. For Lyme Regis you can also take the park-and-ride bus a few minutes’ walk south of the farm – you can access the South West Coast Path once there. There are plenty of other local footpaths to ramble along nearby, and pretty Bridport and West Bay are both also accessible by bus in around 15 minutes. Stay here and you'll be well place to explore the many fabulous attractions of the Jurassic Coast, visit market towns and seek out local pubs serving home-made meals and local seafood. It's also less than 10 minutes' drive to the cookery school and events at River Cottage HQ.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked We had a great stay here with our friends. The team were very accommodating and were great at communicating with quick responses. The pitches are big and although there’s a little slope it was well worth it for the view! The facilities were basic but sufficient - the showers were surprising good! Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked Loved our stay at Berries farm. Lovely views, sunsets and clear skies at night with stunning view of the stars 🤩 Daisy was really helpful with local info, and the site was very peaceful. People camping were lovely and friendly, had a lovely vibe. Clean facilities, showers were hot with a good space for drying and dressing.

Disliked Toilets were a little cramped, but we're spotlessly clean.

A great back-to-basics site, and well-priced. We'll definitely return!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great location, lovely views across the hills, and an easy stroll down to town, and it's on the bus route to come back up the hill.
Huge pitches and flat ground our side of the site so easy to set-up.
Basic but clean facilities and HOT showers.
Daisy was responsive and friendly.
No big groups so it was peaceful and safe for kids and dogs.

Disliked Bit of a trek to the toilet so maybe another unit could be handy mid-way down the field.
Close to the road so heard traffic at night (not that they can help that, or maybe we just went to bed too early!)

Disliked Not enough toilets. One cubicle in the men’s only is not enough for the whole site.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked - The views were absolutely stunning!
- We didn’t get chance to use the park and ride but we googled it and it was right by the site, so ideal to use if you want to leave your vehicle on site.
- Toilets and showers both clean and site overall was tidy (few cigarette butts but that’s purely down to untidy guests!).
- The electric hook up pitch we had was level but the site itself is a little hilly.
- Easy to find and in a nice location.
- Some reviews said how noisy the main road was, but we found it absolutely fine.

Disliked - Toilets were very small (but again clean).
- Showers were clean however the pipe for the shower head was too high, so when taking the shower head off the rail it didn’t reach where you needed it to in order to properly clean yourself (but again fine for the one night we did).
- Park and ride is only until 5pm (I know this isn’t the campsites fault just an FYI).

From the manager: We really appreciate your honest feedback regarding the facilities. While we’re pleased you found the toilets and showers clean, we understand the layout and sizing could be improved and we’ll take your comments on board! Definitely some improvements for next year!

Thanks again for staying with us! We hope to welcome you back soon, maybe for a bit longer next time!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked We loved our few night with the family at Berries farm! The views are absolutely stunning 😍 Its a lovely quiet and chilled site. We shall definitely be returning 😊 It was close enough to the beach and the shops. The owners are very helpful and quick at replying via email. Toilets and shower were well kept and clean. Also an area where you wash up your cutlery, pots and pans.

From the manager: Hi Stacey, thank you for your lovely review. We are so happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay on the farm. It was a pleasure to host you! Daisy and Harry - Berries Farm.
