What customers say
This site boasts excellent countryside views and a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of space. Visitors appreciated the clean toilets and hot showers, the helpfulness of the owner, and the ability to choose their own pitch. However, some experienced noise from a nearby contractors' yard and a local hotel. Minor issues included a lack of flatness on some pitches and dated facilities.

Very good for the price
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Was slightly sceptical after seeing some reviews but they were far from the truth. Location was very good being near lots of walks and beaches, the view was amazing with wild deer and other wildlife on show. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the facilities were of a good standard along with the area being able to pitch up anywhere was perfect.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked The staff were friendly and the toilets were clean though basic
Disliked Would not recommend this site. We'd booked for 2 nights but only stayed one and were unsure whether to stay at all. The sloping camping field was right next to the A39 and overlooked a scrap yard. We thought we could just ignore that fact, but about tea time, there was a group of youngsters shouting and jumping on the scrap metal and racing cars around and around.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Nice clean toilets with hot showers and the ground was perfect for putting pegs in. Nice field which was fairly flat so handy for a tent. Easy to find and well signposted.
Great view of the sunset/sunrise each day, lots of deer to watch.
The dog walk wasn’t what I was expecting but was still handy to have
Disliked The light in the men’s bathroom didn’t work.
Very close to the road which whilst it wasn’t really a problem it did take a night to get used to, and it’s opposite a hotel that had some sort of function on so played really loud music until 4am (the other nights were really quiet though)
Bit of a weird set up but nice enough for the price

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback, we were not made aware of the light situation but will make sure it is fixed asap now. I'm sorry you heard music until the early hours that is something that has never occurred before and will try to find out why it did and make sure it doesn't again.

Excellent location but very much let down by the above
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Area , view of countryside (except the contractors yard at the bottom of the field) friendly staff (but only saw them once
Disliked Noisy contractor’s yard at the bottom of the field , noisy permanent residents/reving cars and driving around the field doing hand brake turns (dangerous disrespectful)facilities adequate but dated and tired
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Hi we are so sorry about the residents revving the cars in the field, we have spoken to them and will make sure they do not do it again, we have also found that some of them were not permanent residents and they have been spoken to as well, once again we are very sorry about this and will make sure nothing of the sort happens again
