Shepherd's hut

Liked Everything. The location was beautiful with a view of Hartland, a beautiful small secluded garden with picnic table, lounge seats, balcony chairs and a bench. The hut was a hotel room in miniature with a double fold down bed. The owner was super helpful for a small fee provided breakfast and sandwiches.

Local attractions

Walk the entire length of the Hartland Peninsula’s coastal path and you'll soon happen upon Hartland Quay (10 minutes’ drive), a former harbour with rugged cliffs, rockpools and a museum that doles out the gossip on the quay’s smuggling history. Hartland Point (10 minutes) is another point on the route. At 99 metres above the sea, the headland has excellent views over the peninsula’s cliffs. It’s next to the helicopter pad which has departures to Lundy Island, where seals, puffins and walking trails are the hot attractions. Get a tick-list of things to visit nearby sorted perhaps… good inclusions might be the stunning Speke's Mill Mouth Waterfall (10 minutes) surrounded by valleys and cliffs, the ancient fishing village of Clovelly (15 minutes) and all the hiking spots between Welcombe (25 minutes) and Clovelly. Down south, there are historic Cornish villages like Boscastle (55 minutes) and its ravine, port and witchcraft museum or Tintagel (an hour) and its clifftop castle. Bude (35 minutes) has heaps of surfing beaches, including nearby Sandymouth Bay Beach (half an hour).
