Wood-fired hot tub with fabulous views of Exmoor
Stunning devon views from the field-corner location
Cabin exterior
Relax in your secluded seating area, which catches the sun all day long

  • Cosy secluded Devon cabins for two, with gorgeous views to Exmoor
  • A 20-minute drive to South Molton; half an hour to the coast
  • Ensuite bathroom, scenic deck area and wood-fired hot tub
It may not take much more than a quick look at the pictures of this site to have you packing your bags and heading in a Devon direction… Both the gorgeous green views and the well-equipped comfortable cabins are most enticing, and the combination of the two makes Stairway to Devon a particularly excellent spot for a cosy and romantic break with your other half. There are only a couple of cabins at this site, and they’ve been set up in 10 acres of peaceful farmland, strategically placed to make sure each one has plenty of privacy and can make the most of those views. And what views they are, looking out over miles and miles of lush green Devon countryside towards Exmoor National Park in the distance. You’ll be able to catch glimpses of that scenery through the windows, but the very best place to take it all in is your private deck, which has outdoor seating, a barbecue and a very fabulous wood-fired hot tub that’s just the place for a sunset/stargazing soak with a glass of something. Inside is just as well designed, with a comfy bed (with luxury bed linen), an ensuite bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen (with cooker, fridge, kettle, toaster and all the other bits you should need). It’s all kept nicely cosy by a woodburning stove (with wood provided). The nearest sizeable town is South Molton (20 minutes’ drive), but there’s a well-stocked community shop a mile away in High Bickington, and three pubs are within walking distance for drinks and meals.

Cabin

Liked: Just returned from a fantastic stay at Stairway to Devon. We couldn't have been more pleased with this cosy cabin. Inside was immaculate and very clean, with a comfy bed, ensuite bathroom and a small kitchen, which was well stocked with ample cooking facilities, together with a wood burner and a supply of wood for heating. outside was a wood fired hot tub, wood included, seating, table and also a Bbq if required. Nothing was too much trouble for the host Nathan who made sure the fire was well stocked in the hot tub as we went out for evening dinner, ensuring the hut tub was ready for use on our return.
I would highly recommend this stay for couples intending to have a relaxing break.

Disliked: nothing

Liked: Nathan was an amazing host! We have traveled to a lot of places but the service nathan provided us was so heartwarming and we appreciate every little thing. We had booked this for our 3 rd anniversary and i had accidentally booked the dates on the wrong month. From the moment i contacted nathan to see if we can get this amended, he was ever so helpful and even blocked out the correct dates for us even though it was a loss for him. Luckily we managed to sort it. He then followed up about our request and even called us on the day of arrival to find out when we wanted to hot tub warm for and notified us about the road closures. Then we walked in to this dreamy place , of course Nathan offering to carry our bags, and everything felt so surreal. There was even brownies and drinks and roses ready for us to start our celebration! One of our favourite getaways so far, honestly felt like a movie , kitchen was fully equipped we used the bbq to even make a steak dinner. And 40 minutes drive your close to illfracomb which we had the pleasure of visiting on our way back home. A lot of our friends and family were asking for the location!! Thank you for having us.

Cabin

Liked: Everything.. cabin was beautiful with everything you could want, bed was so comfy. From the personal welcoming card, the cream tea and bottles of cider waiting for you.

The fire for the hot tub was pre lit for me, so was ready to relax in after a long ride.

Surprisingly cool even tho it was one of the hottest nights of the year.

Can’t recommend this location enough.

Disliked: WiFi could be better, but then it was nice to switch off!

Apologies we for the lack of WiFi- we do have it in hand, we’re just waiting for a part to arrive in the post in order to get it fully functional.
