If you love spending time outside but don’t love compromising on comfort, you should be very happy at Meadowfields Campsite, five minutes’ drive from Dartington in Devon. You can expect smart modern facilities and communal spaces to relax or cook, all surrounded by the hilly South Hams, with easy access to Dartmoor National Park (10 minutes’ drive) and about half an hour by car from the south coast. The communal barn is a welcoming, relaxed and light-flooded space where you can get together, chill and stay dry in any rainy spells. There are board games so you can engage in a little friendly competition, and outdoor sofas and tables for lounging on clement days. No need to bring your own cooking gear either, as the communal kitchen has everything you need for stress-free meal prep; you can also spark up your barbecue if you’re going down the self-catering route. New in 2025, the accessible shower block has plenty of space, extra-roomy showers and cosy underfloor heating to make camping comfortable whatever the weather. There are also washing-up stations for easy clean-ups, and laundry amenities include a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Where will it be first? Perhaps you fancy exploring Dartmoor National Park (10 minutes’ drive)? You can hike a myriad of family-friendly routes like the path along the River Teign from Fingle Bridge (45 minutes’ drive), or have a potter around Lydford Gorge (55 minutes), all the while keeping an eye out for Dartmoor ponies and birds of prey. Ride the scenic Granite Way and Drake’s Trail by bike, go horse riding (15 minutes) across the high moor, and then cool off with a refreshing dip on the River Dart at Sharrah Pool (15 minutes) or Spitchwick Common (20 minutes). On cultural days out, go right back to the beginning of history to see the remains of Bronze Age roundhouses at Grimspound (35 minutes). Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

If the reception is closed on arrival, please check in at the office.
Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 3 day(s) of arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Bookings must not be for more than 28 consecutive nights.
Public areas are non-smoking.
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
Refunds within the indicated cancellation period are only possible if the site is able to relet your unit/pitch.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
