What customers say

This is a highly-rated, immaculately clean, adults-only site with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Facilities, particularly the showers, are frequently praised. Pitches are well-maintained and spacious. On-site amenities include a popular restaurant, bar with entertainment, and takeaway vans. A shuttle bus service to local towns is a convenient bonus. Minor drawbacks include some road noise and the cost of WiFi. The site is well-located for exploring Torbay and Devon.

Liked The friendly and helpful staff, the cleanliness of the facilities, showers were hot and stayed on till you were finished, entertainment good and bar prices reasonably, Poppy's restaurant although only open Thursday till Sunday for breakfast and dinner is well worth a visit with staff very attentive and helpful, the food was excellent the best chicken melt l’ve ever had, loads of bbq sauce. Other days there were a chippy, Thai and pizza vans other nights The shuttle bus service was very convenient for Torquay and Paingnton if you don’t want to drive.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Clean facilities and helpful staff.

Disliked The road between pitches could do with being wider.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: It's great that you've enjoyed your stay and appreciated the teams efforts to keep everything lovely & clean. Our park was originally landscaped in the 70's to accommodate the cars and caravans in the day that were a lot smaller. Cars and caravans these days are a lot wider and longer. We have reduced pitch numbers to widen pitches and this has worked well however the roadways in between are all fine if everyone gives us the right sizes of their caravans and motorhomes, Very often people under estimate the length of their unit - and i'm not suggesting you did - which then means they're a bit bigger on the allocated pitch than we would like in turn this makes the roadways seem narrower. I hope it didn't cause you too much of an issue passing through to your pitch and hope this doesn't deter you from revisiting us again in the future.

Great place would recommend to my friends and family.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Brilliant place to stay. Lady in reception was lovely, very welcoming and helpful. The facilities were clean,in good repair and reassuring to use. I am visiting my elderly mother who has dementia so not a holidaymaker but it was just brilliant. I could come back to my microcamper with my dog and completely relax. Please thank the "Team".We will definitely be back.

Disliked Nothing really. Just struggled with knocking my tent pegs into gravel with a rubber mallet, but that's probably my inexperience.😁

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: I will thank the team on your behalf. Thank you for writing your review. The ground is still very hard at the moment because we've had so much sunshine and heat for so long. If you struggle next time with your pegs just ask and we'll see if we can help you.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Great and clean site

Disliked Noisy road

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We do state we are off the main road with easy access and no narrow lanes to negotiate and this is a trade off in some respects to proximity to the road and some people being more sensitive to any road noise than others. Wind direction and road conditions also will have a bearing on sound levels. Hopefully, this will not deter you from returning.

Local attractions

This is Agatha Christie country, so if you’re looking to solve the mystery of what to do during your hols, you're sorted here too. Make your way into Torquay a 15-minute drive away for the Agatha Christie Mile – a walking tour of spots that inspired the author – and Kents Cavern, a prehistoric cave that served as Hampsley Cavern in her novel The Man in the Brown Suit. For a glimpse of Christie’s personal life, Greenway House at Brixham is where she spent summer and Christmas hols. If Greenway House whet your appetite for stately homes, zip along to Compton Castle (five minutes) for house and garden tours, or Cockington Country Park (10 minutes) for strolls around the extensive grounds and a glimpse of Cockington Court (now a craft centre). Not enough? Venture further afield for Coleton Fishacre, Buckfast Abbey and the 16-sided A la Ronde, all within 35 minutes. There are plenty of museums, steam trains and model villages nearby to keep history buffs entertained, but those who prefer more of a living and breathing experience should pad over to Paignton Zoo (within 15 minutes) instead.
