Liked: Absolutely everything , the owner is absolutely great and his attention to detail on the land a small touches. The tipi was amazing , he lit the fire for us ready and there was fairy themed joys everywhere! The land surrounding the tipi was private , the kitchen was well equipped , the fire pit and logs were great / so many blankets and hot water bottles and the beds were really comfy . I cannot recommend this place enough as group , there's so much room and he made us feel at home. The toilet was really cute , and so were the dogs and animals ! Had a great time, will recommend and return!
Disliked: Going home !
You can't get signal at the tipi but this was the exact reason we came for :)

Liked: We had a fantastic stay at Acorn Huts with two adults and four children. We stayed in Pixie woods and the children were beyond delighted from arrival, exploring the teepee, and discovering the toilet and shower hidden in the woods. If you want a completely private and tranquil spot where your children are free and safe to explore, making dens in the woods, and discovering nature this is the place for you. We were very taken by the farm animals - particularly the pigs but most importantly the lovely Ralph, a dog that quickly became the children’s best friend. We spent the evenings bat watching and making friends with crickets in the day. Chris was fantastic, and everything was thought of. So many details, books and toys in the teepee, comfy blankets and pillows, hot water bottles, rugs, fairy lights and candles. You will be impressed at how every little detail has been thought of to make your stay perfect. The kitchen area is also fantastic if you do get rain, and exploring the woods in the rain was in fact one of the best memories - listening to the pitter patter of the rain on the treetops. So much more relaxing than our usual camping trips and far more memorable than any hotel. Thank you Chris! We will be back!
Disliked: Going home! Very poor signal but this is really a bonus if you change your mindset.

Liked: From arrival, we had a very warm welcome from the owners, but the biggest thrill was seeing the hut and the area that would be ours for the weekend.
We had everything we needed supplied (except towels) in the yurt, kitchenette and shower/toilet. The attention to detail was second to none.
The children had the best time exploring the woods looking for fairies, (sure we saw one 😉), just being away from the world for a little time.
Also, no word of a lie...there is no signal. You are totally away from the world and it's wonderful!!
We will be back again and just a massive thank you from us all on your hospitality to our family, even to Ralph the spaniel who would come see us to check we were OK 😘

Liked: Absolutely fantastic stay. Very cosy tent (Pixie Tent), full of lovely touches and an amazing area to explore and for the kids to run around in. Felt very private and quiet, and in turn very relaxing. Kitchen hut was well equipped and a good shelter if the rain came. Ralph the dog from the farm was very friendly and even had my dog-fearing son stroking him enthusiastically. Local shop has good opening hours and is well stocked. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Liked: Due to technical difficulties with booking software the site we had booked, (Pixie Woods), was unavailable on our chosen dates so we were promptly contacted by the owner to apologize and offer us the use of two of their other sites, (Holly Bush and Leafy Bottom), to compensate and accommodate our family of five at no extra charge.
Both bell tents were immaculate and cosy with a generous welcome package, the kitchen areas well stocked, composting toilets were well maintained and the shower was hot and well pressurised. Rain on the first night produced no leaks and didn't inhibit cooking and the tree clearing next to Leafy Bottom provided sufficient cover to not limit our enjoyment.
Sunny days were spent with free range children chasing eachother around the fields and stroking piglets and a chilled evening around the fire.
If you are going into Okehampton we recommend the 'Farmer Luxtons' farm shop and the 'Sandford Gate' automated milk and milkshake dispenser nextdoor
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.
