  • Countryside park on 500 acres, 15 minutes' drive from Woolacombe
  • Woodland walks, nature trails, pool and riding centre on site
  • Two on-site bars and a takeaway; play park and miniature golf
Life’s little stresses getting you down? Want to stow yourself away for a countryside break where everything is close to your pitch? Come along to Combe Martin’s Stowford Farm Meadows in north Devon for a bit of de-stressing in a rural setting: the park is a mile from the main road down its own private drive and is a well-placed base from which to explore the best of Devon. Set among 500 acres of Devon woodland and meadows, Stowford Farm Meadows falls into the category of ‘very large’ sites – but fear not if your tastes tend towards the more solitary, as the park is divided into five separate fields and feels like several small sites rolled into one. The overall size means there are heaps of facilities and activities for you to try your hand at, from cantering around on horseback with the help of the on-site riding centre, to driving the kids crazy with your swish moves at the crazy golf. Looking for something a bit quieter? There are marked woodland walks into the wildlife-rich Bittadon valley, with nature trails starting and finishing on site. A heated indoor pool is available for a small extra charge. For putting feet up or letting hair down, the site has two bars (with evening entertainment in peak season) and an on-site takeaway. For supplies, Stowford Farm Meadows has a licensed, well-stocked shop and for your caravan and camping accessories. And finally? Even the dog will de-stress here, with a friendly welcome and a spacious dog-walking area on site…

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked Site was fantastic. Camping and touring pitches were a great size. Staff were brilliant. Friendly, happy to help and efficient. The dog walking areas were fantastic for our furry family member.
Our children loved feeling safe and exploring by themselves.

Disliked Showers were quite cold. It’s a slight quibble, but It would be lovely to have some more space in the shower cubicles, as it was very tricky to shower, dry and dress children in them.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The site was easy to find as it is well sign posted when you enter, the site is quite large, and we found it hard to find our pitch number but eventually found it. The pitch was maintained well. The showers and toilets are clean. There is a small arcade on site, which the kids loved, swimming is an extra charge and the pool was cold. Staff were friendly. I would recommend this site to family and friends.

Disliked Signal isn’t great on site. I paid for the WiFi and even then it wasn’t a great connection.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Clean site with good sized level pitches .
This is our third and last time here as it is now a very expensive site for what it now offers .

Disliked The fact that the site has got rid of most of it facilities that we have seen on previous trips here.
The food outlets, camping shop , entertainment options and the shop is now half the size

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Check in was midday onwards which is great when camping as you don’t want to waste too much of your day waiting for your pitch. The pitch itself was massive! Could have fit two large tents on it. Great facilities on site (I know this as a friend has a lodge there). Toilet and shower blocks were clean and tidy. Sinks to do washing up and a small laundry room too.

Disliked Reception did not tell us about the facilities available: swimming pool, bar, shop, crazy golf etc. Showed us where our pitch was but this was poorly signposted. The number was covered in grass, guessed where it was down to having electric and could just about see the number of the electric point. Pitch was slightly on a slope and needed cutting, grass was very long. WiFi and phone signal is awful, you have to pay to connect to the site WiFi which is equally not great at times.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Ability to book on line via pitch up
Very pleasant male receptionist who welcomed us to site

Disliked Allocated camping spot was occupied by a static ‘show’ caravan
Very grumpy female receptionist who reluctantly tried to sort out a new pitch for us. I understand that the site had been recently taken over by Park Dean and the pitches were allocated centrally. However, the reception team are the customer facing team and represent the company and they cannot complain and side step responsibility.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Clean and tidy site with large pitches. Plenty of facility blocks situated throughout the site. Friendly and helpful staff. Onsite security.

Disliked Food only served at bar for evening meals. Pool very basic and not included in pitch fees as it is in other sites we have visited. Hookup’s could can be quite far from pitch (long leads required)

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Staff were friendly, pitches were nice and big, park was clean, food was nice.

Disliked Showers were not great. Sometimes smelly, and not powerful. You either had hot or cold, no in between for the younger ones.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Large pitches
Clean facilities
Plenty to do on site - swimming pool, arcade, farm shop, chip shop, resturant/bars. Lovely childrens park.
Private drive in.

Disliked The pitch numbers could be clearer on the ground(overgrown) very minor but nearly ended in a divorce before the tent was set up!
Area is not to our liking but not the sites fault!

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked Large pitch size, very clean facilities, great on site amenities - very impressed overall & will definitely be back

Disliked Only that our pitch was under a street light which was on all night, would have liked this to have been a bit dimmer overnight, but not a massive issue

The highlights of north Devon are a pebble throw away, with Combe Martin on the doorstep and the famed harbour and seafront of Ilfracombe a few miles away (if you forget your wetsuit, the clever sorts at Stowford sell them in the on-site shop). Take little monsters to the animatronic dinosaurs, train ride and 250 species of wildlife at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park where they can help feed the lions or see the birds of prey, or along to Exmoor Zoo for yet more specis to see. Not thrilling enough? Let them see stars at the Milky Way Adventure Park with the tallest rollercoaster in Devon, or whirl about the rides and play areas of The Big Sheep.
