  • Simple pitches on a peaceful Devon organic smallholding
  • On the edge of Exmoor National Park, 10 mins' drive from Combe Martin
  • Easy access from the A39; wellness activities available on site
Calling all walkers, wildlife enthusiasts, beach lovers and folk who like to live a holistic lifestyle… you'll all find plenty to interest you at Little Barnstone, part of an organic smallholding just outside the village of Kentisbury, on the border of Exmoor National Park. This peaceful place is well located indeed, with easy access from the A39 and a good number of attractions within easy reach. Combe Martin is about 10 minutes' drive away for a beach and access to the South West Coast Path, and there are plenty more beachy options nearby including Croyde, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe (which is also the place to board boat trips to Lundy – a real wildlife paradise). With Exmoor so close by there are plenty more walks around, and you’re likely to see plenty of wildlife as you roam around. You may possibly see some on site too, but even if not you'll definitely see the resident animals – the chickens, ducks, ponies and goats, the two small dogs and Rocky the cat. You’ll also spot the smallholding’s owners going about their business around the farm, looking after the animals and tending the veg. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the smallholding, and also have a chat if you're interested in organising wellness activities (sound baths and yoga are among the options on offer). The pitches here are a mix of level and slightly sloping, and they’ve got simple facilities including showers, compost toilets, picnic tables and a washing-up area. A family-friendly pub is five minutes' drive away, and there's a convenience store in Combe Martin for picnic and barbecue supplies.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Nestled in stunning Devon countryside this intimate campsite is perfect if you want quiet, calm time surrounded by animals and nature.
The facilities are great, a warm shower, compostable and flushable toilet and an inside area with electricity should you need it.
The hosts Lizzie and Matt were extremely welcoming, informative and helpful.
Very close distance to Combe Martin and a great base for hiking in the area.
The ground was great for camping in bad weather, we had very heavy rain and the ground didn’t become waterlogged.
Would definitely recommend here and will look to rebook for a longer stay again.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: We liked the peace and rest on this campsite, the quietness of the environment, the friendly people who have welcomed us, the lovely animals and the easy simple clean facilities. There was a place to load the phones and a fridge to cool our elements. The nearby countryside, the walks on the coast path and Exmoor are all close to the campsite. We had a lovely time. Our daughter loved to be with the animals.
