  • Well-maintained pitches five minutes’ walk from Porthleven, Cornwall
  • A 10-minute drive to Flambards Theme Park; 15 minutes to Marazion
  • On-site pub; five minutes’ walk to the beach and South West Coast Path
A family-run touring caravan and campsite located about 500 meters from the centre of the historic fishing village of Porthleven, Mill Lane Campsite is a dog-friendly spot with generous-sized, level pitches and plenty of space for all the family. The campsite is a five-minute walk from Porthleven beach, famous as one of Cornwall’s best reef breaks (are you listening, surfers?). It’s also five minutes to the South West Coast Path, making this a great base for long-distance hikers too. Porthleven village hosts the award-winning Food Festival in July, but you can eat in quirky cafes, traditional pubs or fine-dining restaurants – all serving fresh, seasonal food – any time of year. Pick up foodie supplies in the local shops – including delicious Cornish pasties – and there’s a handy supermarket too. And there’s no need to fret about keeping everyone entertained in the evenings. The on-site free house sells the world-famous Cornish ale Spingo, brewed in Helston (10 minutes’ drive), so adults are never far away from a refreshment. For the kids, there’s a pool table in the pub, as well as sport on the big screen and live music throughout the year. Bingo fans can play every Friday evening at 7pm with cash prizes.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The the whole site. Upon arrival, we just pitched up and chilled. We had out pitch number via email, telling us what to do upon arrival. Toilets and shower facilities were absolutely brilliant, clean and lots of hot water. Gutted we could stay long. The pub on site has a great friendly atmosphere, and the service was brilliant, the beer welcoming. Will be visiting again. Porth leven is a steady 10 minute walk, which has a few good pubs, and lots of buses to take to out of town, £10 for 2 passes per day. “Family pass”

Disliked I couldn’t find anything i disliked about the campsite.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked The only like I can say is how close it was to the lovely harbour. Sorry nothing else to say positive.

Disliked Staff very rude not helpful at all when we arrived
Don’t come here if you are looking for any entertainment, even though it filters on pitch up as having entertainment, the only entertainment is the last Friday of every month which is karaoke and the bar is lifeless.
No hot water at the washroom facilities.
Tap broken off the chemical facility.
Showers trickled water.
The main reason I have given a poor review is it is over priced. We have stopped at many sites with facilities and those with none and this is by far the worse for the money. If I would of paid £15 which that is all it is worth the review may of been different, but this is not worth £70 for 2 nights when we had juts done a Brit stop for £5 a night and much was much cleaner and better.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Situation to Porthleven. Access to bus route

Disliked New toilet block has only one ladies toilet. Other ladies toilet has one cubicle out of action and another waterlogged. Hot water in lower field not working and under sink drainage loose and leaking. When cleaning lady informed she said "not my job"

Liked Good facilities, close to porthlevan harbour.

Disliked Pot holes on entrance to car park which you need to pass through to camp.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Very friendly site, toilets and showers were clean and only a short walk to the harbour. We also used the bus stop outside the site to travel around nearby.
Was very quiet and decent sized pitch. It’s nothing fancy here but we loved it and will return. Also excellent free WiFi

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Good hot showers, whenever I went, with two heads, waterfall and directional - handy with kids! Also, in same vein, always hit water for washing up.

Disliked Could do with a couple more ladies toilets , perhaps even some toilets in the lower field? Would be great for those late at night looking visits!

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Location is perfect with under a 10 minute walk to harbour area.
Hot showers with plenty of unrestricted water (no push buttons).

Disliked . Toilets need some TLC with leaks and some out of commission and not enough to serve the campsite when busy.

. Scruffy pitch with poorly maintained grass and hedging.

. We had to share a waste water drain with the adjoining pitch as one was not provided for our pitch, but was sold as a fully serviced pitch? This meant our portable waste pipework would not reach the drain and we had to fill a makeshift container to empty our waste daily as we left our wastemaster at home as thought it wouldn't be needed?

. There is no warden or any sign of campsite management - you just arrive and get on with things and this allows some users to take liberties such as encroaching on adjoining pitches, putting up tacky and tall flag mast lights, inconsiderate parking etc?

Local attractions

If you’re keen to get out on the water, Porthleven beach (five minutes’ walk) is a fantastic surfing spot, and you can take coastal cruises (try one at dusk for spectacular sunset views) or sea-fishing trips from Porthleven harbour (10 minutes). Meanwhile, at Marazion (15 minutes’ drive) it’s a short hop across the bay to the crag-top castle and gardens at Mount St Michael. Kids will clamour to get on the coasters and flumes at Flambards Theme Park (10 minutes), or splash in the sea at sheltered Gunwalloe Church Cove Beach. There are plenty of family hikes along the Lizard Heritage Coast (both 20 minutes) and lots of seabirds for the kids to spot along the way. And there’s masses of art and culture in these parts too; the galleries and museums of St Ives (30 minutes) warrant a day’s attention, and there are rare plants and wacky artworks to be seen in Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (20 minutes).
