  • Family-run holiday park five minutes' drive from Penzance
  • St Ives and Land's End within a 25-minute drive
  • Dog-friendly site a few minutes' drive from the A30
Pootling around Penzance and trips to the beach go together very nicely indeed. If you're after a bit of both, check out Stream Valley Holiday Park, a family-run holiday park set in peaceful Cornwall countryside and close to the coast. This site is superbly well connected to the local area: the A30 is a few minutes' drive away, as is Penzance railway station (there's also a bus stop within walking distance). Green-fingered folk may appreciate the fact that stepping out to visit the gorgeous grounds of Trengwainton Garden will set you back a mere 20 minutes. Polite and well-trained pups are allowed here – they're sure to have a ball running up and down local dog-friendly beaches like the stretch of sand at Eastern Green (five minutes' drive/40 minutes' walk). Barbecues are also welcome here, but please help the friendly owners take care of their lawn by raising the hot bits well off the grass. A shop and bakery are within walking distance for any supplies you need to pick up. From a practical point of view, the well-maintained toilets, laundry room and washing-up point are all handy things to have around.

What customers say

This small, well-maintained site offers a peaceful stay with a friendly, helpful warden. It's conveniently located within walking distance of Penzance amenities, making it a good base for exploring. Pitches are generally a good size, and facilities are kept clean. Some visitors noted limited facilities, including only one shower per gender, and an additional charge for showers, which some felt was expensive. WiFi can be intermittent.

Electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Quiet and friendly site close to all local amenities and listening to the stream babbling by is very relaxing. Very clean and welcoming site.

Disliked The showers could be a bit better as they aren't very powerful but thats my personal preference not a dislike.

Electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Near By Beaches

Disliked The Site was not at all what we expected.
Site extremely, Small Pitch too close to each other. (Pigpen style)
Plus expected to park Car on what we assumed was to be where the tent has allowable space.
Invasive Cameras everywhere.
I understand if you don't have appropriate Staff, to Monitor the Site for Security reasons.
But it felt extremely inappropriate to have a Camera Facing into my Tent and I assumed was listening too. (BIG Brother)
I'm sure this is not legal I have camped on at least 30 sites and not one matched this for privacy invasion.

We was Told NO from the warden the minute we arrived.
NO to how we had pitched our tent.
How to pitch and angle our tent.
Then asked to move it around after it had been pitched.
Which I refused to do as I was on my Own with my two children 6 and 8.
I was told, "your on Camera and you will be asked to leave" "and they will come down from Birmingham".
Reflecting on the words told to me I felt extremely uncomfortable and responded
"I have paid for the pitch like others and I am trying to make it work as I'm on my holiday".
Asking to speak to the Management I was told "your on Camera". I said if possible I'd like to speak to someone if possible to discuss any matters regarding howy tent was pitched up and positioning.

No phone calls was made.

NO to children Playing with a ball.
NO to children using scooters.
NO to children Squirting water at each other. (Not my Children other small children on another pitch).

NO to talking to other Campers regarding exit and entrance access which was the last straw for me.

Dog fouling on other peoples Pitch.

One shower at a price, Not cleaned enough.
Two toilets not cleaned enough.

Other Campers spoke about Health and safety of Fire safety between tents and pitches.

We Left day 2 we booked 5 days asked for our money back for 3 days. Was Refused.

Should be Adult Only Site if they don't want children to play and ask to see cleaning sheet for the daily cleans of facilities it was filthy.

Electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Tony could not have been more friendly and helpful ensuring we were well looked after. We had an issue with noise one night and he dealt with this in a friendly manner and the following evening all was quiet. Good shower and toilet facilities. Each pitch had its own water supply and electric hook up which was great and so convenient. Site was locked at all times with keypad entry felt very safe. Good location close to Penzance centre. We didn’t use the public transport but found it very easy to find a parking space in the harbour car park when accessing Penzance centre.

Electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked A lovely small campsite with the sound of a peaceful stream running by. Decent size pitches, toilet and shower blocks always clean. Warden was welcoming.
Location- just outside the hustle and bustle , local shop and chippy 2 minute walk from site.

Disliked Wifi would not work for us, although this was not a deal breaker for us.

Liked Calm, quiet place. Friendly staff.

Disliked 1 shower is not enough!
Noise of water cleaner next to our pitch was too loud at night.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Hard to say anything good about this small site, apart from the other campers were all lovely and friendly, and the site was clean.

Disliked The site claims to be dog friendly, we had no option but to exercise our dog off site on the busy road. We booked a hard standing pitch, got put on a stoned out small pitch which wasn't easy to back onto, as told not to drive on grass ( if you could call it grass, the patch of mud exiting our MH was far from ideal. As for the warden, he even parked a van so as we couldn't, when leaving , turn our MH around and drive out safely. If that had happened on a public road, he would have been reported to the police.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We can not apologise for not letting your dog toilet on someone else's pitch!
We advised you of a nearby safe dog walk.
With regards to your comments backing onto your pitch, our warden offered to guide you onto it, but you rudely declined.
With regards to the condition of the grass, apologies, but we have had a lot of rainfall, which is beyond our control.
As for the warden parking his van so you could not leave, our warden does not own a van; this van belonged to another guest. Had you let us know, we would have asked him to move it for you.
Going forward, we wish you well on your future travels.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked We had a fantastic stay at this site , it was so peaceful, lovely maintained and Tony the owner was very friendly and welcoming! We actually left to go to another campsite after staying there for 3 days and rang to see if we could come back as we went to an awful campsite in Falmouth and rang to see if he could accommodate us for another two days which he very kindly did and we were so happy to return for another 2 days! I would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks Tony for a lovely stay! 😀👍

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Very quiet. Very tidy but very few facilities in very well shape.

Disliked "Strictly No new arrival after 6 p.m." was the Welcoming Message.

"Late" arrival ("late" means after 6 p.m.!) was quiet difficult to handle and needed 3 calls with Warden before we we're finally checked in. Arrangements for "late" arrivals with Warden obligatory.

Many signs which tell you what not to do. Very strict Atmosphere.

Walk to Penzance City needs 30 minutes. Get's annoying If you do this every day twice.

Showers need one Pound (Credit Card) extra payment but at least we're Long (8-9 minutes) and warm.

Only 1 female and 1 male shower and 1 Male toilet for the whole place.

Washing machine asks for 5 pounds extra Charge and ist only possible until finished (!) untill 5 p.m.

No activities offered.

Local attractions

If you're potty about plants then Cornwall's the place to be. The area around Penzance is home to 16th-century Trengwainton Garden (20 minutes' walk), semi-wild Trewidden Garden (10 minutes' drive) and the artsy exhibits on show at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (10 minutes). (Even if the names all look a bit similar, no two are alike.) Further afield, the ever-popular Eden Project (an hour) is also within reach. In days gone by Cornwall was a busy industrial landscape where the menfolk would leave home at the crack of dawn, pasty in hand, and head out in search of copper and tin. If you're curious about delving into the underground world of 18th-century mining, check out Geevor Tin Mine (15 minutes) and take tours of its 200-year-old tunnels. Back at surface level, you'll likely want to start thinking about heading to the coast (this is Cornwall, after all). St Ives (20 minutes) is the place for foodies and art fans, who flock to its Tate gallery and top-rated quayside restaurants. Mousehole (15 minutes), meanwhile, is a well-preserved fishing port characterised by its gorgeous granite cottages.
