  • Coastal site with dog-friendly grassy pitches on a family-run farm
  • A 15-minute drive from Looe, Adrenalin Quarry and Wild Futures
  • Walking distance from beaches, cafés, pubs and the coastal path
Craving the seaside with all the cream and sprinkles on top? Well, there are tasty beaches, fishing villages and coastal walks all around Trewall Farm Campsite. It’s a truly Cornish stay at this coastal site and the sea will never seem far away, as the dog-friendly and family-friendly grassy pitches look right over the big blue – and Whitsand Bay (10 minutes’ drive) and Looe’s fishing town are right in view too (15 minutes’ drive for this traditional little place). As for your neighbours, you’ll be sharing this working farm with cows and sheep. Toilets, showers and a fresh water tap have their place on the farm, so you won’t be without the basic comforts. As for taking in the view, perhaps you'll want to lay down a blanket on the flat pitches or gather everyone about for a game – there’s plenty of space to do either. You might be surprised where your feet can take you from this site, whether it’s local fish and chip shops or the South West Coast Path (20 minutes’ walk). Downderry village’s pub on the shore, bistro or vegan café down by the dog-friendly beach are all within 20 minutes’ walk too. Seaton’s the next place over and 35 minutes’ walk away – it has a long stretch of sand and the wildlife-packed Seaton Valley Countryside Park. It's pretty well primed for picnics too, so you may want to head to local farm shops or supermarkets within 10 miles of the site to get ready.

What customers say

This campsite offers stunning, uninterrupted sea views from all pitches, coupled with exceptionally clean and well-maintained facilities including showers and toilets. Owners Paul and Michelle are frequently praised for their warm welcome, helpfulness, and attentive nature. The site is noted for its spaciousness, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to the village and beach, though the walk back is steep. While generally well-equipped, some guests suggest a few more toilet facilities would be beneficial during peak times. The site's exposed hilltop location can be windy.

Liked Amazing view, not over crowded and the facilities were kept clean.
Everything was very clear and the owner made an effort to come and speak to us.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked • Stunning sea view over Looe Island and harbour - the owner isn’t greedy and doesn’t cram everyone in, which means that every tent has a perfect view.
• Level pitches with plenty of space.
• Good, clean facilities.
• Hot showers.
• Great location.
• Quiet and peaceful.
• Friendly owner who took the time to greet everyone and was often available to answer any questions.
• Simple key fob system means that you choose your own pitch, but it stays yours for your whole stay even if you’re in a camper or roof tent and you’re away for the day.
• Easy walk down into local villages with quiet beaches and good pubs for food.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked It wasn’t our first visit to Trewall farm. We love the location being only a short walk from Downderry and Seaton. We love walking on the coast path and ended up covering over 10 miles to Portwrinkle and had a nice lunch followed by the walk back into Seaton for the music, beer and cider weekend.
There are lovely views from the farm along the coast to Looe. There are only around 20 or so pitches which means you don’t feel overcrowded. We will be back again soon

Disliked Can’t think of anything to put here

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked We loved our stay at Trewall farm, our stay was perfect, views are amazing, we loved the check in idea that Paul come up with a really clever idea.the walk down into Downderry was lovely with it being a unused lane so didn't have to worry about vehicles, was a little steep coming back up but that's good after eating and drinking to work it all off. Shower's and toilet's very clean. Host was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked I have loved my weekend with Paul, Michelle and the fellow campers at Trewall farm. Everyone was so friendly and the atmosphere amongst us campers was great - I put this down to Paul's above and beyond hospitality.
The facilities are kept very clean and tidy, the communal area is a nice touch and the views!! The views are incredible.

Paul was even so kind as to help me pack down in the strong winds which I was most grateful for.

I will certainly be back, the people I met at the local pub in Downderry and also Seaton were equally as friendly as Paul & Michelle which is always welcome when you're travelling on your own.

Local attractions

Things might seem easygoing so far, but there’s just the place nearby to raise the stakes. Adrenalin Quarry (15 minutes’ drive) lives up to its name, thanks to its aqua park, go-karting circuit and 490-metre zipwire (that’s if you have the courage to take the leap from the 50-metre cliff). Segways are the sport of choice at Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park (half an hour). This historic park by the sea has more than just coastal views: it’s also an estate with activities from survival courses to archery, watersports and circus skills (stilts, anyone?). For the animal world, some fur (or feather) therapy takes place at Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary (half an hour). There’s the opportunity to be a keeper for a day both here and at Wild Futures (15 minutes), a local monkey sanctuary. Rainforest biomes are the territory for a whole load of tropical plants and that’s the tune at Eden Project (45 minutes). Polperro (half an hour) is along the coast in the same direction, so perhaps you’ll want to pair your trip there with a visit to the large fishing village, where walks, beaches and fishing trips are rife.
