  • Spacious CAMC members-only pitches at a farm on the edge of Saltash
  • Plymouth city centre/ferries 15 minutes' drive; Eden Project 40 mins
  • Easy access from A38; country club next door for drinks and meals
Welcome to Cornwall – if you’re travelling along the A38, Saltash is the first Cornish location you’ll come to, just after you’ve crossed the Tamar Bridge. That makes it an excellent spot to settle in for some time spent sampling the delights of both Cornwall and Devon. If you’re a Caravan and Motorhome Club member, the place to be is Cockles Caravan Park Certified Location, with just a handful of well-spaced pitches at a family farm on the edge of town. Being just a little way off the A38, this is a handy location for an overnight stop on a long journey to Cornwall or ahead of a ferry sailing from Plymouth. It’s well worth sticking around for a little longer if you can, though – that way, you’ll be able to spend some time exploring the Tamar Valley National Landscape, Dartmoor National Park and Bodmin Moor, as well as heading down to the coast. Everything here has been set up to make life easy for guests in caravans and motorhomes, with no narrow lanes on the approach and easy access to the site even for larger units. Pitches are huge, flat and made up of well-kept grass in a field surrounded by wildflower-filled hedgerows. Each pitch has an electric hookup and there are shared services including water and waste facilities, bins and a recycling area. From this location on the edge of town it’s about a mile to shops and restaurants in the centre. Closer to home, a play area and skate park for the kids are about half a mile away, and there are dog walks from the site. The country club next door (five minutes’ walk) welcomes guests to its café-bar, brasserie, golf course and spa.

Electric grass touring pitch (members only)

Liked: Handy location for Plymouth Ferry. Good small basic site with hook ups and waste disposal. Only three of us on site during our one night stay.

Disliked: Not easy to find.

Electric grass touring pitch (members only)

Liked: Despite that site being flooded and them having to cancel everyone else we were allowed to stay so we parked on the gravel entrance which was nice and secure and we could easily run our hookup to the nearest post.

We tend to book small sites without showers/toilets as we are self contained and this site was ideal for us. The communication was great with them giving us enough warning about the condition of the site, the flooding was no fault of theirs as the pitches are raised so would have been draining it was just the volume of rain we've had over a short period of time.
