Liked Lovely traditional pub on site, near Stithian’s Lake. Great food and friendly service. Attractive pub gardens. The site is small and peaceful. Facilities were clean.

Liked The campsite was small, quiet at night, you could choose if you wanted to eat at the pub or do your own thing, ideal if you like peace and quiet and relaxing, if this does not meets your expectations, then you should choose a campsite that has more facilities, that also comes with a higher price.
Disliked The only drawback, would be the toilets and washing facilities , the doors on the toilets was a bit awkward and sometimes got stuck, the washing up station was ok but needs to be brought up to date as well as the toilets, I do understand that it would come with a cost , but I would be happy to pay a bit more, if the facilities were better.

Liked Pitches were compact but site pleasant. Pub very accommodating for leave time. Nice relatively quiet site. Good dog walks. Found it very relaxing and likely to return.
Disliked Toilets were a little outdated. One struggled with flush. Due to grass pitches the floors were quite messy.
Disappointed with turn up time of after 2 pm then leave by 11am.

Signage is poor - we was on pitch 16 but finding it was a struggle due to the fact the sign was broken off and located in the edge.
I got locked into the toilet and was unable to unlock the door for 30 minutes, got the attention of someone outside and she informed the Pub staff- this could have been a medical emergency, it wasn’t - the Golden lion needs to understand they have a duty of care for people on their site. Need to make sure that things like locks work properly.

Disliked Food was awful, everything was ‘off’. Ended up after 3 attempts at an order with burger and mash. Quality was very poor and at premium price.
