Liked: We really enjoyed our stay here, the view is absolutely amazing and the owners and facilities are lovely. The only downside was that our pitch got the most of the wind but that is down to the weather and not the site. We will definitely be coming back

Liked: One of the best campsites we've ever stayed at. Incredible views, excellent facilities (the shower there was better than ours at home), and felt really special with campfires and loads of space.
Disliked: There's a big hill to get up every day but it's worth it.

Bell tent (water view)
Liked: Location
Shower cubical
Disliked: No dinner table to sit and eat (just low chairs )
The grass was cut and no cuttings were taken away just left on site
Made tent very messy very quickly
Fridge space was inadequate for party size and not cold enough
Only 3 bowls in tent for 4 people
Lighter provided didn’t work
Kindling and logs damp even though left in box
Head torch provided had run out of batteries
🔋 road noise was quite substantial during our stay

From the manager: We are sad to see that you did not enjoy your stay with us, however we were equally disappointed to find the state in which you had left our tent and bathroom having made no attempt to clean up after yourselves and showing a lack of respect for our space. Furthermore, the complaints listed above are either false, out of our control or easily fixable if you made them known but none of these points were brought to my attention until receiving this review.
No dinner table - the outdoor seating is clearly shown in the listing photos, you also received an information sheet detailing what is included with your booking. However if you were to have said you'd like a table and higher chairs I would have been happy to arrange this for you by lending my own personal outdoor seating and table set.
Cut grass - our camping field is 2.5 acres, as much as I would love to have a machine capable of picking up grass on a field of that size it is not an option to us. I did however make sure to cut a path to your tent and an area for your fire pit and seating where the grass was picked up to minimise this problem. The same was done for guests tents staying at the same time and they had no problems, which was also due to them removing their shoes in the tent to stop grass from being walked in. If you had raised the issue to me I would have offered to hoover the tent and bathroom or you.
Fridge space - each bell tent is allocated a shelf of a large fridge freezer, for a two night stay the space is more than adequate, the temperature is also displayed on the front of the fridge (4 degrees at time of checking), although there is of course a chance another guest has left the fridge door open causing the fridge to be warmer than usual. If you had told me you did not have enough space I would have offered you a second shelf which was available at the time.
Bowels - there were 4 bowels in the tent, at checkout 3 were left out dirty and one was still on the self of your cooking station. If you had asked me for an extra one I would have sorted that for you.
Lighter & heat torch - both had been checked and were working shortly before your arrival and after checkout (before seeing this review), they are both currently being used by new guests without any issues. They may well have not worked at that particular time of course and if you had let me know I would have sorted out replacements right away.
Damp logs - all the logs we provide are seasoned and dry, the second day of your stay was very wet and humid so there's a chance that could have caused them to be damp despite being in the box. Again if you had let me know I would have said you're welcome to help yourself to a new net of logs from our woodshed.
Road noise - the road noise you are referring to was due to the resurfacing work on Bodmin Hill during your stay which was out of our control. This was unfortunate and not a true reflection of the road noise at our site. The roadworks were due to be finished before your arrival, though once I found out they were not finished on time I made you aware as soon as possible.
Poor customer service - we pride ourselves on providing the best customer service we can and do our best to make our guests stays as good as they can be. Upon booking you were emailed all of our site information, a guide to the local area and discount codes to some local attractions. Our number was included to contact if you had any further questions and once realising the road works would continue during your stay you were made aware. At check-in I was there to welcome and show you around. I let you know that you could call or text me with any issues you might have during your stay, I did not hear anything from you again despite seeing you the following day, so I had presumed there were no problems.

Liked: What a wonderful location this is! We spent two nights here with our two young daughters. The ready made beds ensured a comfortable sleep, and waking up to the breathtaking view was amazing. Our girls had a wonderful time playing in the spacious surroundings of the tent. The bell tent offered a sense of seclusion with only two others in the field. The upkeep of the site is impeccable. The inclusion of a private bathroom was a welcomed bonus, creating a hotel-like experience. Throughout our stay, we were provided with cooking amenities and a campfire, adding to the enjoyment. Chris, one of the owners, was incredibly accommodating and available for any assistance we required. The location couldn't be better – it offers an escape from the bustling campsites nearer the beach while remaining a short drive away, and it's conveniently situated for exploring various attractions. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Liked: Fabulous location just outside Lostwithiel with a great view down the valley. We had no problem arriving without a car and enjoyed a walk to nearby Restormel Castle and the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery. The site is very spacious and the bell tent was luxurious; we also had our own seating area with firepit and a private bathroom.
Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Absolutely amazing campsite! Quiet and private with a fantastic view. Level pitches. Bathroom facilities were brilliant and everything was so well thought through for guests. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening too. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Great campsite guide and local guide provided by Chris. Best campsite we’ve ever stayed at by far! We will be back.
