  • Peaceful and private adults-only park in a secluded Cornish valley
  • The Eden Project 10 minutes’ drive; Bodmin Moor half an hour
  • Pitches in wooded paddocks, games room and spotless amenities
Sometimes all you want is peace and quiet. Yes, even if you’re going to Cornwall and thousands of other holidaymakers have evidently had the same idea at the same time. But peace is possible among the madding crowds, as can be seen with a trip to Lanlivery’s Eden Valley Holiday Park, a secluded site in a Cornish valley surrounded by trees and rhododendron bushes. And when you’re ready to brave the throngs, the park is handy for the highlights of Cornwall – including the famous Eden Project a few miles away. Eden Valley is geared towards adults who aren’t into noisy clubhouses or flashy evening entertainment. It’s a peaceful place set up to be as private as possible, with a select number of pitches in each linked wooded paddock. For the young at heart, or if you’re feeling competitive? Try the games area with its pool table or table tennis. Amenities are kept to a spotless standard by Darren, Ginny and the team, and include a shower block with roomy cubicles each with their own toilet, sink and power shower. A launderette is also on site along with separate areas for washing up and vegetable prep. All in all, a little peace of paradise…

Electric grass and gravel touring caravan pitch

Liked: I cannot deny it is a beautiful tranquil well run campsite the trees and the owls at night make it special, the showers and toilets are great your own shower room with loo and sink, very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Dave! Good washing up facilities. We loved Clover field where we pitched. The nearby pub The Crown Inn is just 10 mins walk away in Lanlivery for a good few pints of Red Bill Ale tho we were not so keen on the food there being pescatarians. The walk to Helman Moor and Logan Rock is a lovely day out about 4 miles there and back., we were defeated by a lake on the path on The Saints Way, take wellies in October! Good rates in Oct £19 per night. We spent a week there probably too long for us. NT Lanhydrock is 10 mins away and well worth a visit. Adults ONLY :)) Dog Friendly

Disliked: Not much apart from the fact we were not into the immediate area St Austell Parr Eden Project etc but that's us and being Cornish a week was a little too long. A lot of permanent caravans here. The WiFi was great at start but got worse as the week progressed and no Vodafone or Tesco phone signal at all.

From the manager: Thankyou for your detailed review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, and sad you have chosen not to stay again. The "permanent" caravans are just seasonal pitches as we are not open all year round.

Electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: clean, well maintained and friendly site. And so quiet.

Disliked: The single tack lane to get to it. Although one direction is considerable shorter so worth figuring that out before you go. To be fair Cornwall does have single track lanes!

Local attractions

Two of Cornwall’s major attractions are within a quick drive – The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan – but a recommended start is staying local and heading over the hill a mile-and-a-half away to the ancient town of Lostwithiel, set in the Fowey river valley. After going local, go either north or south: north will take you to Bodmin Moor (half an hour’ drive), home of the fabled beast and the place of legend, tors and Brown Willy, and to the National Trust’s country house Lanhydrock (10 minutes) with sculptures, woodland trails, adventure playground and lavish gardens. Or head to Padstow, Newquay and Tintagel (all aroud 45 minutes) for seafood, surfing and swashbuckling tales of King Arthur; the Camel Trail runs near Padstow for horse riding, cycling and walking. Going south, more biking and walking is along the China Clay Trail, along with digging into history at St Austell’s China Clay Country Park (20 minutes). The town of Looe is within half an hour along the coast for fishing, shark spotting and a 12-mile walk to Fowey along the South West Coast Path if you’re feeling so inclined.
