  • Spacious unallocated pitches suitable for families, groups and dogs
  • Near to the South West Coast Path, beaches and attractions
  • Campfires and groups welcome; enclosed dog exercise field on site
To list the excellent pursuits that can be sought out from Lamarth Farm Campsite would take some time: coastal walks, cycling trails, National Trust beaches or clifftops, Poldark locations, mining trails, castles and activities such as surfing, paddleboarding, fishing, horse riding, coasteering and golfing… That’s partly down to the fact that this family-run farm site’s patch of land is at the gateway to the Lizard Peninsula. It's a simple and uncomplicated place surrounded by Cornish countryside and run by Rachel, Luke and the boys. Take in the valley views across Mounts Bay while cradling a hot choc or a glass of wine by the campfire. The pitch sizes are unrestricted, so there’s plenty of space to unwind, and well-behaved dogs are very welcome (four can join you for free, and you can add extras if you've a multi-dog group). There’s a designated enclosed dog exercise field, three dog-friendly beaches a short drive away and a great dog-friendly pub in Gunwalloe village, five minutes' drive away. Don’t worry on the food front either. Ice cream and pasties are easy to find locally, and there are shops in Helston, Mullion and Mawgan for essentials. Facilities are kept to just the basics with a clean and well-maintained male shower block and a female shower block with baby changing facilities. There are two partially covered sinks for washing up, a fridge-freezer for ice packs and other bits and sockets for charging battery packs. The large grass field also has a central recreational area for kids to run around, fly a kite or play games. Lamarth Farm is a working farm, so expect to see and hear lots of tractors (just don’t enter the yard area). There’s no livestock, but there are some chickens and ducks, so fresh eggs are available to purchase at the top of the lane daily. You may also see helicopters and gliders passing overhead from the nearby naval base.

The site offers plenty of room to choose your pitch, a dedicated dog exercise area, and a handy communal shed with useful extras like a fridge and charging points. From the manager: It was such a pleasure to welcome you and your family Ahmed- chatting and hearing about all the wonderful places you had visited. A shame the weather wasn't kinder- next time! Harry would also love to show your little boy where the chickens lay their eggs and sleep at night (he was fascinated ) A polite and friendly boy- credit to you both. I hope your journey home was a good one.
See you again, Rachel

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Hot & powerful showers, shower facilities- well stocked-sanitary products available , toilet rolls, shower gel etc if you get short.
Access to electric kettle, fridge, book swap, able to charge phones. Making the camping experience much easier.
Very large dog field with poo bin & poo bags available.
Lovely plants for sale.
Relaxed & friendly.

Disliked Ground very hard!- but able to buy extra strong pegs on site

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for the wonderful review Julie- nice to know the extra little touches made your camping a little easier ( apart from the hard ground) Its been so dry that unfortunately that happens -on the plus side though the tent was well anchored!! We hope to see you again with your stronger pegs. Rachel

Non-electric grass tent pitch (solo)

Liked Excellently positioned campsite run by the superb friendly Rachel and her husband Luke. Very handy for walking the south west coast path. Lovely short cut grass, very neatly kept site. Very clean facilities. Excellent little hut with fridge freezer and kettle and phone charging sockets. Lots of lovely little touches. Rachel and Luke work very hard keeping everything running smoothly. Love the choose your own pitch type of place, with a chilled relaxed vibe. Very quiet at night. Good mobile signal too!

From the manager: Thank you for your review Sarah, it was a pleasure to meet you and welcome you to our campsite. Glad you enjoyed your stay and it was lovely to chat & hear all about your adventures each day on the SWCP
Your feedback has been noted and very constructive thank you- I have actually popped a little note on the bins reminding people to recycle! Doing our bit for the environment is so important sometimes it slips peoples minds when out of routine on holiday.
We look forward to seeing you again if you come to this part of Cornwall - good luck with the rest of your SWCP adventures :) Rachel & Luke
