Tranquil camping
Pitches on site

  • Friendly family-run site near the Lizard Peninsula
  • Coverack village harbour and beach under a mile away
  • Sports field, games room, launderette and plenty of space for play
'In a brilliant spot' is how a gratified former guest has described the setting of Little Trevothan Caravan Park near Coverack... this peaceful and friendly family park is secludedly set, but within easy reach of heaps of Cornish attractions: the Lizard Peninsula, Kynance Cove, Flambards theme park, St Michael's Mount, Poldark Mine, the National Maritime Museum and the National Seal Sanctuary are a mere handful of top destinations easily reached from here, as well as fishing, surfing and swimming galore around the seas and sands of the south coast. Little Trevothan is among 10 acres of well-maintained lawns, hedges and shrubs, close to the coves and beaches of the Lizard Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and 20 minutes' walk from the pubs, shops and shores of Coverack fishing village for swimming and watersports. The site has a family games room and a small shop (open during high season), and plenty of space in the sports field and playground for kids to run around. Among the amenities are a washroom block with toilets and free hot showers, a launderette with washing machines and dryers, and a washing-up area. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The campsite was very well kept and well organised with fantastic facilities which were all kept sparklingly clean.
There were plenty of loos between the 4 toilet/shower blocks, and all were immaculate and well supplied with soap & loo roll.
There’s a lovely park and huge football pitch for the kids, a laundry room and a fully enclosed washing up room (which was a refreshing change from the usual semi-sheltered affair.
There’s a small shop in the reception area and the gent who owns the place was very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble (we didn’t see the lady on-site but she was very accommodating and helpful via email).
We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Disliked: I’m not sure if there’s a family shower unit or a non gendered one as I didn’t look, but families with younger kids often find it easier to use a larger space while getting the kids showered and some people might prefer a non gendered option available.

From the manager: Thank you for staying with us this April and for your great review. We love that you comment on our sparkling facilities which we always work hard with. We built our log cabin a few years ago with the lovely enclosed washing up area, as before we offered outside dish washing! A family shower room can be found in the log cabin for those with younger children, this is also accessible for those with mobility difficulties, and also available for everyone when they request a key from the reception.
We love your photographs - thank you for posting. And we hope to see you again.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: The whole site was immaculate. The owner is very friendly and always available.
The pitch was large enough for camper van and awning and still room. The washing facility's were perfect always clean and fresh. There was a laundry room and a waste station. There is a playground for children tucked away from the pitches. About a 20 minute walk to the sea and coastal path where there is a lovely sculpture garden on route.
All in all a fantastic place for a relaxing break.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Clean quiet. Excellent pitch level was spot on. Close walk to the quiet unspoilt Coverack harbour. Or the coastal path. Facilities are plenty sufficient for the site.with nice open play area for the kids. Very helpful and knowledgeable site staff. Clean facilities with multiple stations and laundry which is very good for a smaller site.

Disliked: Well all seem good if i had to be critical. Showers run for around 20 - 25 seconds and perhaps a little longer would be better. I appreciate the idea of the push type timer type, just a thought otherwise great.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: A beautiful well maintained site with excellent facilities. Can’t believe we only paid £26 to stay here, it was beautiful! A lovely warm welcome on arrival with shop, games room, laundrette and inside washing up area. Wish we could have stayed longer, will definitely stay again!

Disliked: Some pitches are a distance from electric so you need a long cable. We told them on our booking we only had a 10m cable (they recommend a 19m cable,) so they put us on a central pitch closest to the electric which wasn’t a problem.

From the manager: Thank you for staying with us in October and for your review.
We are pleased to read about the things you liked and are also pleased to say our prices won't increase for 2025!
We are always happy to accommodate our guests' requests as where our pitches are so large, sometimes a longer cable is needed to reach next door. We have spares to hire out if guests need it.
We look forward to your next visit!

Local attractions

The nearest Cornish waters are at Coverack, about a mile away, and you'll also want to have a day at gorgeous Kennack Sands, reachable in less than three miles. Spectacular Kynance Cove, a couple of miles north of Lizard Point, is part of the West Lizard Site of Special Scientific Interest and was a favoured spot of arty sorts like Wordsworth for its scenic peninsula setting. Family days out nearby include the Cornish Seal Sanctuary and Flambards theme park, eight and nine miles away; Falmouth and its National Maritime Museum, and the Poldark Mine, to try some gold panning and to see how tin miners did it way back when. Paradise Park, an award-winning wildlife sanctuary with indoor play centre, is about 20 miles away at Hayle. If you fancy a ramble or a hike, head inland to wander the banks of the Helford river before catching the ferry for a sup and a bite at the Ferry Boat Inn near Falmouth; more energetically, hike a local section of the South West Coast Path from Coverack to Helford or the Lizard, or tackle the 10 miles from Helford to Falmouth via the Helford river and Pendennis Castle. The beaut scenery of tidal island St Michael’s Mount is 18 miles away; in the other direction, the Eden Project is about an hour's drive away near St Austell.
