What customers say
This is a well-maintained, peaceful campsite with spacious, private pitches separated by trees. Guests frequently praise the excellent location, offering easy walking access to Bude, its beaches, and amenities. Staff are generally described as friendly and helpful. While the site's layout and grounds are well-regarded, some visitors found the toilet and shower facilities to be basic, dated, and in need of improvement, with occasional issues regarding cleanliness and hot water.

From the manager: We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. However, it’s important to clarify a few points for future guests reading this.
You originally booked one of our glamping pods, which are exactly as described and pictured online. Our pods receive excellent reviews from the vast majority of guests who understand and enjoy the glamping experience. On arrival you immediately requested an upgrade to one of our cottages — which are a completely different type of accommodation and priced accordingly (the pod at £390 vs. the cottage at £894 for the same period). We offered the upgrade at the correct additional cost, but this was declined.
Our facilities are maintained to a high standard:
• The BBQs provided are quality Weber models which are thoroughly cleaned after each stay.
• The pods are designed for off-grid style stays, so power is limited to USB ports and a small kitchen setup — this is clearly detailed in the listing.
• The grounds and location, as you noted, are what draw most of our guests, and are exactly as shown in the photos.
We appreciate that glamping is not for everyone, particularly if comparing it to a hotel or cottage stay. But many of our guests return year after year precisely because they value the pod experience and everything that comes with it.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Beautiful campsite, grass kept lovely. Nice and private. Lovely and quiet though the week, became busier at the weekend but still very relaxing and peaceful. Perfect location 10 mins from widemouth bay, 10 mins from Summerleaze beach, 15 mins from Sandymouth beach. Park and ride outside the campsite to take you into bude.
Disliked Toilets and sinks needed more attention.
Smashed Glass left around the fire pits for days.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Pitches were well maintained and nicely spread out, WiFi worked well, lovely children’s park on site and campsite in great location for exploring Bude.
Disliked Toilets were not kept cleaned, and the sinks for washing up were not piped properly meaning all the drained water was just flowing out behind the sink into the ground.

Good location for access to Bude…
Electric grass pitch
Liked Good location for access to Bude & beaches
Disliked At 9am the site handyman decided to light a bonfire with the wind direction blowing the smoke & ash across the campsite, black toxic smoke that stank and made you feel unwell, the ash fallout deposited on everyone's tent, caravan, & car, more alarming was the exploding aerosol cans going up into the air. The fire became so big & out of control that Bude fire service was called and had to extinguish the fire, eventually someone from the park came to see what was going on and said "its only grass cuttings being burnt", the fire service found plastic & household rubbish was being burnt. Then at 11pm that evening fire service called back as fire was burning again....................no person from the park came to talk to their customers or offer any apology whatsoever and apparently this is not the first time they have been burning rubbish whilst they are people holidaying on their site!

From the manager: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We would like to clarify what happened during your stay.
The incident you describe began when waste was mistakenly placed by campers failing to used the main bins. Due to wind conditions. The fire service was called promptly and extinguished the fire quickly. Later that evening they came back and checked. It was out.
In 16 years we have never had a fire-related incident of this kind, and we are committed to ensuring it never happens again. The safety and comfort of our guests will always come first.

Electric grass pitch
Liked The site was quiet, easy to find and within walking distance from the park and ride into Bude.
The wash block was clean and functional.
Disliked Proper locks should be fitted to the toilet and shower doors rather than relying on a bolt resting against a worn part of the timber door frame.
The showers also lacked any shelf to put anything on although there are hooks for towels.
